(y/n's pov)

I was sitting on the boat with Luke, both of us enjoying the peaceful and calming morning.  The sun was shining brightly and the wind was blowing gently in our faces.  It was a perfect morning and I was enjoying the moment.  It seemed like a dream even though I knew that it wasn't.  But this peaceful atmosphere couldn't have come at a more inopportune time.  I heard the quiet sounds of waves and the calls of seagulls and the laughter of me and Luke.

I trusted Luke completely because he had always been there to take care of me and made sure I was safe. I trusted that he would never let anything bad happen to me. Yet I also knew that Luke had being acting a little off.  You didn't know what it was, but the signs were all there.  The peace was too good to be true but I just brushed it off.

I was starting to miss Percy more than ever and I felt like something was missing.  I felt like an important part of me had been taken away and that I was missing something very special. His presence was always calming and comforting and this was one of those times when you really missed his presence.

I asked Luke about Percy and Luke seemed a bit annoyed. I could tell that Luke did not want to talk about Percy and I got the sense that something was wrong. Luke had always been a bit dismissive about Percy and his presence. But now it was different. It was obvious that something had happened and that Luke was hiding something from me about Percy. But what?

I got up to firmly ask Luke again and Luke finally had enough. He sighed dramatically and he looked like he was really holding back. I kept insisting and I didn't realize that it was annoying him. He kept trying to be dismissive and to avoid the question. But eventually he lost his temper.

Luke suddenly started yelling at you and you were shocked and taken aback.

"DONT YOU EVER SHUT UP? STOP ASKING DUMBASS QUESTIONS, ITS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS."

I didn't expect this from Luke and I was also sad at his sudden outburst. I took a step back from his yelling as my eyes started to water. I was also hurt because I didn't think Luke would ever scream like that. He was one of my best friends and he knew that I didn't handle yelling very well. I was starting to think otherwise. If one of my "best friend" would just scream at me when I wanted honest answers then what kind of friend was he?

I managed to escape his outburst by slipping away into a random door on the boat. I didn't know where the door led, but I would take anywhere I could get it away from Luke and his anger. I needed some time away from him so I could collect my thoughts and figure out what my next move would be. I locked the door tight and I sat on the hard cold wooden floor. I had so much that was buzzing through my head.

I thought to myself, Luke had been suspicious this whole trip. At first he had reassured me that we were both on a quest, but I never recalled Chiron telling me anything. And that wasn't the only suspicious thing that he had said. He had also mentioned that I was recovering from a head injury that happened a few days before and that's why I couldn't remember anything. I didn't know if he was telling the truth or not but I was starting to think that there was something wrong. He wasn't being completely honest with me.

It all begun to make sense in my head. I had fallen asleep that night after Percy dropped me off at my cabin. I was half awake and I could barely make out Luke's figure. He had dragged me out of the cabin in the middle of the night, drugged me by covering my mouth with a white cloth. That was the last thing I remembered before I blacked out. Everything was starting to come together now and it was also a dark truth that I didn't want to admit. Luke had kidnapped me.

I slowly came out of the door and quietly made my way back to Luke. He saw me and he kept apologizing over and over again.

Look y/n, i'm sorry. I let my anger get the best of me. Please forgive me."

He didn't seem genuine and I wasn't buying it at all. I wanted to know the truth and I wanted to find out why he had captured me in the first place. I was tired of him trying to be friendly because that was all a facade. I wanted to know his true motives and what he planned to do with me.

Luke started to come closer to me and he caressed my arms.

"Look just forget that even happened. I'm sorry."

His gestures were making me uncomfortable and I was starting to feel like he was trying to distract you. Even though he said that he was sorry, I felt like he was taking me for a fool. I wanted the real reason of why he had specifically grabbed me in the middle of the night and kidnapped me. I wasn't going to let him continue to lie to me.

He tried to hug me, I pulled away from his embrace and I let out a disappointed sigh. I didn't want him to hug me or even touch me because it still didn't feel genuine. I had a lingering suspicion that there was something more to his actions. I wanted him to stop acting friendly because I wanted to know what his intentions were. Why had he done all this in the first place? I had enough of the lies and I was getting impatient.

I demanded for him to tell me the truth and he looked up at me with a cruel look on his face.

"All you have to do is tell me the truth." I said

His eyes were now wide open and he finally realized that I wasn't going to accept any lies. His eyes looked like they were going to melt from his face as he hesitated for a moment. Finally he spoke slowly and hesitantly, his voice still came out solidly.

"If I tell you the truth, you won't like it. If you get angry then I don't want you to be that way. I just want to explain myself and not get you angry in the process."

I took a short moment to think about what he said.
"Fine, what is it? What's the truth? Why am I here Luke?"

He was reluctant to answer my question but he needed to tell me the truth. He finally turned back to me with a stubborn but determined expression.

"I'm not going to lie to you but I needed to do this for one very important reason. I needed you and you had to be with me. If I didn't do this then everything would have been destroyed. You are the key to my plan and I just cannot fail. I needed to make sure you were with me because you are the most important part of my plan; A prophecy."

What? What are you talking about? I asked

"You don't know, huh?"

I shook my head no.

"Well add that to the long list of things Chiron hasn't shared with you. Chiron, Mr. D, all the rest— they don't care about us. To them, we're just kids. A bunch of pawns meant to be pushed around, told what to do. I'm not the only Half-Blood who thinks so."

"Why am I the key?" I pleaded

His face turned cold
"Kronos told me you were."

Kronos was the person Luke had been serving for all this time. Luke had been ordered by Kronos to get me because I was somehow the key to his plans. And he had been told to do whatever it takes to capture me. Now Luke's face seemed cold and emotionless as he looked at me. He wasn't showing any remorse for what he had done because he was only doing what Kronos had told him to do. Now he felt no reason to hide the truth from me.

"No.. this isn't the Luke I know. I can't believe you right now."

"But it is, Kronos opened my eyes." Luke said

Luke had been consumed by Kronos and he was doing exactly as he was told. It was like Luke's own mind was being controlled by a greater power. Luke had been brainwashed by Kronos and he was only doing what he was ordered to do. His actions were not that of his own, but the actions of Kronos himself. Luke's eyes were now wide open and he was completely in the belief that Kronos was in the right. All his morals had been lost in the void that was Kronos's manipulation.

"What makes you think i'll join you?" I reclaimed

Luke couldn't help but smile cruelly
"Because, you're my pawn."

At this point, Luke had gone mad. He was just using me to reach Kronos's goal of resurrecting. He had completely betrayed me and he didn't care at all. He had been indoctrinated by Kronos and his mind had been corrupted.
