Chapter 2: Diego

⍟Season 1, Episode 2⍟

Sara rings the doorbell to the Willhite house, "Sara!"

"Hey, Liam, Emmy. Is your dad home?"

Emmy turns, "Dad? Sara's here!"

Alec approaches the door, smiling, "Sara, hey."

"Um, Alec..."

Sensing the conversation wasn't going to be a happy one, Alec turns to his kids, "You guys wanna go inside?" He points to the living room.

"Jules...I'm sorry, Alec," Sara says.

Breaking down, Alec steps outside and closes the front door before hugging Sara and resting his head on her shoulder.

"They took Antonio's son," Voight starts, "And they took my own, as far as I'm concerned. Nothing else matters till we get Diego back. Nothing."

Jay nods, "Sarge...so this all started with Rev and Coop getting their heads chopped off and both did essentially the same job for Pulpo, mid-level distribution, right? So we know Pulpo's cleaning house. And what do you do when you get rid of old furniture? You got to bring in something new," He holds up a picture, "This guy stood out. It's Ernesto Milpas. He was running 15 corners between 22nd and Kedzie when CPD pinched him in '09."

Sara takes the picture, "Yeah, Antonio and I were on that bust with Jules."

"He was released last year."

"He was a climber," Antonio adds.

"Maybe he's looking to get promoted," Erin suggests. 

Jay looks to Antonio and Voight, "He's the best of a lot of bad options."

Sara asks, "What do we have on him now?"

"PO's got an address that's a year old," Jay says before Voight points and nods at him.

As Sara walks out with Voight and Antonio, they are stopped by the Commander, "Dawson. Look, whatever you need, you have my support."

"Thank you, sir," Antonio nods before he moves Voight to the side to talk.

Sara looks to her partner, "You know I'm not stopping until we've got Diego back, right?"

Antonio nods, "How'd Alec take the news about Jules?"

She sighs, "As well as any husband would. Look, Pulpo will go to prison, hopefully die, and we'll get Diego back. But to do this and not come out facing prison time, we've got to keep our heads on straight and not fully give in to the anger."

"I'm fine."

"No, you're not. One of your partners was shot right in front of you and your son was just kidnapped outside of your family's work. It's okay to be angry, but anger can not be your controlling emotion. It's how you end up like Voight," Sara reminds her partner.

"Come on, come on," Antonio says from the passenger side of the car as he, Sara and Voight look over towards Ruzek and Al.

Sara sticks her head forward, "How the hell did I end up in the back? What happened to being nice-"

"That's him," Antonio interrupts her, pointing at Milpas as he walks along the water towards the UC's. 

"There's our boy," Voight radios before they watch Ruzek walking forward, "What the hell is Ruzek doing?"

Then a chase happens, "Everybody go, go!" Sara radios while Voight starts the car.
