Travis' POV:
"Oh, hell yeah!" I roared with excitement. "I didn't think you were still this good at pool, brother."
Jon snarled and then laughed, "Just because I mope around about Molly's situation doesn't mean that's the only thing I do. Just be grateful I was able to gather up enough courage to come out and hang out with you."
"Hey, it's okay. You know I'm just messing with you, right?" I inquired, gripping the pool stick in my hand, not bothering to take a shot.
"Yes," He sighed and then leaned against the pool table. "Do you think that Madison would like Molly?"
Man, the way Jon talks about Molly is actually kind of cute. If me or anyone told him that, he'd be so embarrassed about it. I don't know why he denies he's in love with her when the proof is in the pudding. That, or he just keeps his feelings on the down low so not everyone knows about it. That sounds like a Jon thing to do...
Listen, I've known the guy since 2012/2013, of course I know ole Jon Langston pretty well. Man, the embarrassing stories I could tell anyone about the guy is astounding, honestly. He's a damn goober.
"Absolutely! Madison loves just about everybody; I'm sure her and Molly would get along. Say, whenever she gets better, why don't all four of us go out to eat- have a nice evening with all of us? Wouldn't that be nice?" I suggested, trying to hype him up for the future.
"I don't know, Trav... She might not get no better," He sighed, his grasp on the pool stick becoming tighter.
"Whoa, chill out, man... It's not that big of a deal. It was just a suggestion," I remarked, throwing my hands up in surrender.
"Not that big of a deal? Molly still hasn't improved or anything since the last time I saw her! It's hard not to get mad and upset... If I lose her, I don't know what the fuck my world or life is goin' to turn into..." Jon mumbled, his head hanging low.
My hand was placed on his shoulder and soon, we exchanged a tight hug, the sounds of sniffling coming from the poor guy.
As soon as we had hugged one another, Madison came into the room and then walked to me.
"Is this a bad time?" She whispered into my ear.
I shook my head and then pulled away from mine and Jon's hug, soon whisking away to see what Madison had wanted.
"What's up, babe? Sorry, he's just kind of out of it," I apologized on Jon's behalf.
Madison nodded her head in response and frowned, "Oh no, is everything okay? I was just coming in here to tell y'all that dinner was almost ready."
I paused and stared off for a moment before answering my fiancée's question, "His best friend... She's in a coma and he's taking her absence really hard."
"Oh my gosh, I didn't know that..." She spoke, looking over at Jon who was still standing near the pool table. "If you can, let him know that dinner is ready and he's welcome to stay as long as he likes."
With a nod, I walked over to the pool table and put away my stick and then cleared my throat a bit to catch Jon's attention.
"Hey, Madison cooked somethin' really amazing for dinner, so if you want to stay and eat, ya better come on... Trust me, it won't last long," I joked with Jon as he immediately perked up at the mention of food.
