Part 1: Chapter 5

(Doncaster 2014)

"New One Direction album! New One Direction album!" Niall's voice echoes through the apartment as he walks. Niall's like an ambulance. He sits next to Harry on the couch, Harry is looking over some lyrics he had written the night before.

"Ooooo! New music; Can I see?" Niall says as he looks over Harry's shoulder. Harry has been writing music as a coping mechanism recently, and Niall has helped him produce it. It's nothing serious yet. They've released some of the best ones and plenty of people seem to enjoy it. Harry has grown so much, and although he still loves Louis, he's practically over him. He's a happier person now, and he stopped living in the past. Niall has helped him so much; he's so protective of Harry because he recognizes how fragile the boy is.

Niall reads over the lyrics, and not too much after, they are almost done recording it.

"One Direction's new album cover is looking so good, Liam looks so hot... as always... and I'm just so excited!" Niall rants with glittery eyes, "And the best parts, more interviews! More Liam content, it's already started; the only part that pisses me off are the stupid rumours, Liam's not taken, he's mine! I called dibs!"

"Ni, you know I love you, and I'm niam4eva, but you can't call dibs on a man you don't even know," Niall pouts at Harry's words, obviously joking, but Harry still feels bad. "...yet! A man you don't even know yet. If he's dating someone now then accept it, they might break up and you'll have a chance again." Harry was always feeding into Niall's delusions, and Niall loved it.

"But I know this is just a rumour, Liam and Louis would never date. I mean, seriously what are these people on??? Liam is obviously mine and Louis, Louis is just Louis. Like leave Liam alone, lilo sucks. Louis is a poopy head with a different person every week and Liam is a cutie, my cutie." Niall stops, but only for a second to catch his breath, "I mean, I can see they're really good friends, they've got a special bond, but that's where it stops. And they are all supposed to be straight anyway. Well, I obviously know Louis isn't," Niall says with an eye roll. "So obviously maybe the other ones aren't either, but they are all being made to look straight... who knows what goes on in that stupid management of theirs." (a/n: I don't hate Lilo as a friendship; I love them, pls don't come for me.)

Niall gets up, as the song they've been recording is completed. He walks out of the room, probably to go on a Twitter rant about how annoyed he is at the whole "Lilo" situation. However, Harry is left there wondering "What the actual fuck?". Obviously, he has no right to be jealous, Louis isn't his anymore. But Harry felt somewhat betrayed. Harry hadn't been with anyone since, which Niall always joked about and said "Haz, you seriously need to get laid soon"; So to think Louis has moved on, and has dated multiple people is making Harry dizzy.

Harry knows he shouldn't, but he does anyway. He looks up "Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson dating".

He doesn't find much, as it is just a fanmade rumour. But what he does find are multiple headlines of his ex dating a bunch of different people. Each article has Louis's name next to another high-profile celebrity weeks apart from each other. harry quickly falls into a rabbit hole.

"Louis Tomlinson and Taylor Swift, holding hands at the park"

"Louis Tomlinson has once again quickly moved on... from Kaia Gerber to Zoe Kravitz"

"Louis Tomlinson night out with Lily Rose Depp, Luke Hemmings, Lance Stroll, Zayn Malik, and Suki Waterhouse"

Harry also reads multiple fan theories that Louis had dated Nick Grimshaw, or that he never actually dated Taylor Swift and has been dating his good friend Luke Hemmings all along. He's also come across a lot, an overwhelming amount, of Lily Rose Depp and Louis Tomlinson ship accounts. (a/n: i picked a bunch of random people so like don't judge)

The list is endless and Harry just wants to throw his phone across the room. 1) Louis' has dated other people 2) Louis has dated A LOT of other people 3) Louis is straight???

The media only shows Louis with women, the men he's supposedly dated are only fan theories. Harry is confused, to say the least. His ex-boyfriend was the gayest person he knew, even more so than himself. Harry was sad and confused. He cries himself to sleep.

The next morning, Niall comes into Harry's room. He's awoken when Lottie opens his blinds, the sun pointing directly at his face.

"I'm sorry about my rant yesterday, I didn't mean to bring him up, especially not under that context," Niall says sincerely as he sits next to Harry, cuddling him.

"Niall it's fine, you shouldn't restrict your feelings because of mine," Harry says although it wasn't that fine. "I understand that you were upset, and it's okay to express your frustration to me no matter what it's about. I always go to you when I'm upset, that's what best friends do." He hugs back into Niall. Despite the upsetting news about his ex-boyfriend, he honestly didn't mind Niall's rant.

"FYI they're not dating, never in a million years," Lottie says, to Niall, but she's looking at Harry.

"Oh thank god, I still have a chance!" Niall says happily, squeezing Harry, making Harry slap his arm until he lets go.
