House-warming party

After that very uncomfortable dinner with Eleonor's parents, I haven't seen Val for three weeks. In those three weeks, I went out with Chloe a few times. She is 22 and works at the company because she is trying to save some money to start college. Her parents died in a car accident when she was 3 and since then she has been living with her uncle. Her uncle didn't help her out with anything since she could start working, she was paying for everything even her uncle's rent. 

I was on my way to pick up Chloe for the house-warming party that I have in a few hours. I can finally live in my own house, don't get me wrong, I loved living at my mom's, but I just want my own space. 

I walked in to the store to find Chloe. She was standing behind the cashier. When she saw me, she came around and gave me a quick hug. 

"So when are you done?"

"Normally in 15 min, I only need to check out" she said.

"Chloe, don't forget to check out when you are leaving" I heard someone say behind me. I turned around and saw Val with papers in her hand.

"Oh Brooke, I didn't know you were going to come, do you need me?" 

"Hello, Mrs Wilmsen, no I'm here to pick up Chloe so we can prepare everything for the house-warming party" When I told her I was here to pick up Chloe, her face expression changed to a confused and sad expression.

"I didn't know that you knew Chloe?"

"Yeah, the last time I was here, she really helped me out and since then I couldn't stay away from her" I looked at Chloe and smiled at her, her face lighted up with the words I said.

Val didn't say anything, just gave me a nod and turned around.

"Did my mom invited you?" I asked her, she stopped, looked at me and gave me a small nod with a smile and walked away.

"ooooohhh that was a lot of tension I felt here"

"Yeaaahh you can say that" I said with a deep sigh. Chloe finished her work, and we drove to my house.

"Okey do you want to me to put the snacks on the table, because the first people will probably arrive in like 5 min" Chloe asked. 

"Yeah, I would like that, thank you" I yelled from upstairs. I was doing my makeup in front of the mirror. I check myself and went downstairs. I was wearing tight jeans with a blue blouse. I heard the bell ring and went to open the door, of course it was my mom.

"Hello, darling" she gave me a kiss on the cheek and went in, after her followed Nick and my brother.

"Hey, Brooke" he gave me a hug.

"Hello, Jacob, long time no see, how is college? You are not failing, right?" I said with a laugh.

"UHM no, I'm not because school is literally busy for 1 month" 

My brother is doing his first year of masters in Climate with education of Bio-engineer. He is living together with his best friend he has from high school. Yes, everybody thinks they are together, but he already confirmed a million times that they are just friends. 

"So how is Zoe, eh?" I said to him and winked. He just rolled his eyes and passed me. 

After 30 min everyone arrived except Damon, what is totally not a surprise. I heard the doorbell ring and sprinted to the door.

"Hello, beautiful" he said, and I was smiling to him.

"Come here" he said, and he gave me a hug and twirled me around.
