I didn't run to get outside, quite the opposite actually. I slowly put my stuff in my desk.
At least I was doing something. If I were to go outside I would have to sit alone because no one wants to hang out with the prophecy kid.
As I slowly put my notebooks in my desk I felt a tap on my shoulder.
"AHH PLEASE I DON'T WANNA DIE YET STUPID PROPHECY!" I screamed.
When I turned around it was just some classmate. He had black straight hair and blue eyes.
If kids didn't want to hang out with me before because of some stupid prophecy then they definitely don't wanna hang out with me now.
"Actually, I don't think the prophecy is so stupid." The slick boy smirked at me.
My eyes widened.
Everyone was scared of the prophecy. Heck I'm part of the prophecy and I'm fricking scared of it!
Man, and kids say I'm weird.
"Well you're talking to the wrong guy, I hate that stupid prophecy!" I said.
"No I think I'm talking to the right guy.. I want to be your friend." He said while smirking at me.
I paused for a moment.
"Man do you have a death wish!" I yelled, with my eyes opened wide.
I thought, 'Man, this guy is crazy!'.
He laughed. I had to process that. It seemed like he had no care in the world, and there was me, the kid who had to fulfill the prophecy, and I was the one who was scared.
I just stared at him for a moment.
"I gonna be honest I want the power." He laughed.
My admiration faded for this guy.
I thought he'd say something like, 'I want to do this prophecy so you don't have to do it alone!'. But of course he wants the power.
You might be confused. Also you might be thinking, 'dIdn'T yOU sAY yOur fRieND iN tHe pRopHeCY wIll sUffEr!'.
Yes. I did say that. And it will happen, based on which side of the stick you get.
So the boy in the prophecy has two friends. One that will suffer greatly and one that will get everything he has ever wanted.
It's a fifty-fifty chance that most people are not willing to take.
I cleared my throat, "Or you can go through the worst pain and suffering you have ever experienced!" I smiled sarcastically.
He raised his eyebrow.
"Not possible." He said.
I looked at him for a moment.
"In the prophecy it's the girl that suffers greatly." He explained.
He is right. In the prophecy I have two friends, one a boy and one a girl. Supposedly the boy gets everything he has ever wanted and the girl experiences pain and suffering.
To be honest I thought in some way we'd all suffer. I feel like there's consequences to his powers.
"Well if everything is like the prophecy then why isn't one of your eyes white like my friend in the prophecy." I responded.
My friend in the prophecy looks exactly like him. Black straight hair, blue eyes. However the boy in the prophecy has one eye white and a scar through his white eye.
The boy raised his eyebrow again.
"It is me! Just look at him!" He argued.
I looked back at the text book. Exactly the same..
"Okay I wouldn't like to find out how you get that scar!" I joked. However he did not find it funny.
He paused before saying, "I'm James. James Paterson." Then he reached out his hand expecting me to shake it.
He really wants this..
"Ok! Now you got a friend and a death wish!" I smiled at him. And this time he smiled too.
We shook hands and that's how I got my first friend.
