"Every 200 years three people will live out the prophecy. It always has been this way. A boy with magical powers will be destined... to die" Ms. Byrne explained.

As the whole class gasped I sighed.

I heard this story over and over and over again. A boy with magical powers will try and stop an evil force and die.

One thing I never understood is if the boy is all powerful why does he die?

Most will say it's destiny but I say it's bullshit.

"Now as you know it has been 200 years since the prophecy so it will happen again" Ms. Byrne continued when the gasping quieted down.

"And we all know who will fulfill that prophecy.." Ms. Byrne said as the whole class turned to me.

Oh did I forget to mention? Yup I'm the kid who has to fulfill the prophecy.

How do I know? Simple. I've  always been different... HAHA! No don't worry it's not those kind of stories. I mean I was a bit odd but who wasn't?

Anyways I know because my eyes glow, just like the boy in the prophecy. It's hard to believe sometimes. Not just the fact that my eyes glow but the fact that I have to do this stupid prophecy thing.

Supposedly, I'm supposed to have amazing powers but I didn't get them yet.

I tried seeing if I had lightning powers, fire powers, and you don't want to know how I found out I couldn't fly.

Nothing.

Some say that one day it will come to me. I think however that I'm not the kid in the prophecy.

The prophecy repeats itself every 200 years. Even the appearance of the boy is supposed to look like me.

But I don't look like him. I mean, he has light brown hair and I have dark blonde hair. No way that's me.

But that was the only factor. Other than that the boy looked like he could be my twin.

I tried everything to make the prophecy not happen to me.

The bell rang for recess. You'd think some big shot prophecy kid with amazing powers would have a lot of friends but it's quite the opposite.

As soon as the bell rang, everyone ran away from me. I sighed. This happens all the time. The kid in the prophecy is destined to make two friends who also get burdened by the prophecy. That's why no one wants to be my friend.

The quest isn't heroic. It's suicide.
