Maria's POV
I walk into the training room and I see my newest recruit for the very first time, standing Infront of me is the former Russian spy, Natasha Alianova Romanoff. Her green eyes are like a beautiful orchard of trees with the deep range of green and brown tones present in her eyes, I could spend all day just staring into her gorgeous green eyes. But then my eyes drift from her eyes up to her beautiful red hair that sits just past her shoulders. It is like nothing that I've ever seen before, it sits in slight waves and I feel like I'm being pulled in by a strong tide of her beauty.
However her rather blank expression still remains emotionless and it's impossible to know what she's thinking about from her completely blank facial expression. But regardless I give her a warm and friendly smile before I start with a formal introduction before I transfer into a more informal and friendly welcome because I always like my new recruits to feel safe and wanted in the SHIELD base. Especially as I know from first hand experience that it's terrifying being the new recruit in SHIELD and sometimes someone who you can rely on for a little help can really boost your confidence and help you feel just a little bit more relaxed.
"It's nice to finally meet you agent Romanoff, I'm agent Hill and I am going to be your handler for your time at SHIELD. If you ever have any questions or concerns feel free to ask me." I say trying to put her at ease, even though her facial expressions still seem emotionless and empty.
"I'm sure I won't have any questions for you, agent Hill." Natasha replies to me blankly, in an almost bored tone.
We then get started straight into the training session and I try to pretend that Natasha's cold and emotionless tone didn't bother me, and eventually I do forgot all about it. When a group of the rookies are slacking and whining about what I'm making them do for training, even though they have only done about 20 push ups each, which is nothing for people of of their althetic ability. Especially as one day these are the people thar going to be fighting enemies who are a threat to our planet and the population.
A couple of weeks later
We have been training hard and Natasha is an amazing addition to SHIELD and I can't wait to work with her when she starts her field work in a couple of months. Although she is still quite distant, however there is something that draws me into her. I think that it's maybe because I can see a lot of myself in Natasha, especially as she is only a couple of years younger than me. And especially because I know when I first joined SHIELD I hadn't been in a good state or came from good circumstances previously. I don't know what circumstances Natasha has came from but I think I would be right in assuming that they were probably negative, probably very negative.
I walk into the bathroom and I'm immediately taken back when I can hear muffled sobs coming from one of the stalls. I immediately know that it is Natasha because currently me and her are the only female agents in stationed in the helicarrier. I walk past the stalls until I can hear which stall the crying is coming from and I knock on the door of that stall.
"I know it's you Natasha, are you okay?" I ask her through the stall door hoping to get a response from my younger agent.
But unsurprisingly I don't get a response from the Russian but the crying is still muffled and in addition to that I can hear her choking on her sobs and she is really struggling to breathe. It's tearing me apart listening to her sobs, it's obvious that she is struggling with something and I don't want her to have to struggle alone so I open the stall door from the outside before walking into the stall and sitting down beside the distressed Russian.
She immediately turns away from me and faces the wall, not wanting me to see her upset and vulnerable. This hurts me even more as all I want is to help her but all I seem to be doing right now is bothering her.
