I'll Be There For You

Chapter 3

Just as Emily and Sonny are about to leave neither of them notice that someone had been watching them the entire time that they had been there.

"Well, well, well. Is this why you've been so distant with me, Sonny? How long have you two been sneaking around behind my back!"

Carly says angrily from the top of stairs from pier 52.

Emily looks at Sonny before she goes to pull away from him. He reaches out gently taking her hand in his.

"Emily, don't go. We have nothing to hide. Carly and I are done. She knows that. The only connection we have is Michael, she knows that. You are the only woman that I have been completely faithful to you ever since we spent valentine's day together, remember?"

Emily looks at him smiling.

"How could I forget our very first valentine's day together. We walked through Central Park and then went to a restaurant for a romantic candlelight dinner before heading back to the penthouse."

Carly looks at both of them in disgust.

"You can't be serious! How long have you and Emily have been sneaking around behind my back?"

Emily and Sonny look at each other before they look back at her.

"Yes, Carly. We have been seeing one another for a while now. Zander broke up with me before thanksgiving and I wasn't able to deal the break up so I left town and went to
rehab that's when our friendship started to change."

Jason looks at Emily and then to Sonny.

"What do you mean your friendship's changed? In what way?"

Emily and Sonny look at one another smiling at one another. Carly clears her throat.

"We've been together since before she left to start at the rehab facility."

Sonny replies back to Carly as he reaches out to his hand to Emily.

Carly looks at both of them in complete shock.

"Well, first of all, you mean to tell me that the two of you have been secretly each other ever since before you first arrived here at the rehabilitation facility."

Emily and Sonny look at one another before they both reply back at me same time.

"Yes."

Carly glares at them before she clears her throat.

"Please tell me that you haven't slept together. Have you?"

Emily looks at Sonny shyly before she replies back.

"No. We haven't. But, after some time once I'm fully cancer free hopefully we can start trying to have a baby. That's if you still want to have children with me. But if you change your mind I'd completely understand i won't bring it up anymore. Don't worry about where we go from here."

"As soon as we get back home - - I mean to your penthouse I'll pack up my stuff and be out of your life. We can pretend that our entire relationship never happened. Thank you for everything, Sonny. I'll always love you and I'm never going to be ashamed of loving you."

Sonny reaches out his hand for hers.

"I love you, Emily."

Emily returns the smile before she wraps her arms around his neck.

"I love you, too, Sonny."

Sonny pulls back taking out a black velvet ring box opening it to reveal a breathtaking pink diamond engagement ring.

"Emily Bowen Quartermaine, will you do me the honor of being my wife?"
