The life of a superstar isn't a security thing and Jonathan Carlton or as he prefers to be called now as his alter ego Johnny Cage, always knew and accepted the consequences that came with fame. And after the success of his last work "Mortal Kombat", a movie which he directed, acted and wrote inspired by a crazy dream he had, his fame took off. The once secondary actor in independent films who wasn't even recognized on the streets, now couldn't leave the mansion without being caught by paparazzi or crazy fans.

"Hmpf and you doubted me" He laughed drinking a glass of whiskey while looking at a photo of himself with his wife at their wedding before throwing it away. Johnny thinks that the woman never really loved him. Cris, his ex wife never supported him woth his projects. She always said that it was bullshit and that his career in the Hollywood business would never grow. But she was all wrong about that. And he was glad that after their relationship ended he had the motivation not to give up and follow his dream. And now he makes a lot of money.

He always thinks.
Even though deep down he wished she was still living in his mansion. But it wasn't because he still have feelings for her. No, no! Their love ends a long time ago. He just...Wanted to end this feeling of emptiness.
Every day when he woke up he found the other side of the bed empty and cold, whenever he walked around the house his steps echoed due to so much silence, cooking for himself was no fun. The things was really calm and he don't like it.

He need 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺. And he hated having to admit that he felt alone, because it didn't fit with his extroverted and social personality that he had created for so many years to appear cool.

Currently the only person he talked with a certain frequently was his assistant Sarah, but she only got in touch when it was about something important like business, so he was always waiting for her call or message him.

...

After a long day recording his new film, Johnny rested on his couch rewatching his old films to pass the night. It was just him, the movie, a bucket of popcorn and a glass of wine. Suddenly his cell phone started ringing non-stop, showing that he was receiving a lot of messages.

Excited then, he ran to get the device and see what it was about. And unlike what he expected, this time it wasn't Sarah, but an unknown number without a photo. And in his only message he said: "I see you Johnny Cage."

A strange and truly mysterious message. It has to be a child, Cage thought.

"Don't you think it's past your bedtime? Where does your mother at a time like this let you use your cell phone so late?" He answer the stranger. "And how do you got my number?"

"You underestimate me, John Carlton. But I can see you I know you're lying on your couch, eating popcorn and drinking wine while rewatching one of your movies. How narcissistic of you."

Wait...How did he know what he was doing if his house was empty? And how does he know his real name?Since this is information revealed only to some of the actor's close friends and acquaintances?

A chill ran down Johnny's spine. He didn't know what to do, his home no longer felt like a safe place.

"Where are you??" He aks for the misterious person, but don't have a answer.

Cage carefully walked around the house, seeing if there was any different presence. But there was no one.
He then turned off his TV, leaving the room.
