Meeting him again

It had been a week since that night and I threw myself into my work once more. I told my aunt about the echinda and she said if fate allows me to meet him again then it would be a sign. So far no luck hence why I focused more on my work and my hunting. One day I decided to take a break and try out this restaurant that my coworkers talked non stopped about. I walked up to the white wash painted building with a black sign and the word Dahlia's written in blue. Inside was nice casual design that's very inviting. I was greeted by a teenage female red echidna with green eyes. She takes me over to my table, poured a glass of water and gave me my menu. "Your server will be with you shortly sir" she smiled and walked away. I was looking at the menu which had many good options and saw that the favorite of the chef/owner was called Laura's Pasta. Which had garlic, five kinds of cheese sauces, spinach, herbs, spices, and made with a spaghetti type noodle. It sounded amazing and I decided on that. "Welcome to Dahlia's my name is Knuckles. I'll be your waiter this evening." A familiar voice said and I put the menu down and there he was. "Oh hey you're the guy I bought a drink for last week right?" He said and I nodded. My god even with his hair pulled back and in all black he was still gorgeous. "So you work here huh?" I asked. "Not really I help my cousin out every now and then for extra cash." He smiled. "Anyways what can I get you?" He asked. "Just a glass of white wine and the Laura's Pasta" I said. "Good choice" "My name is Shadow by the way." I said. "Nice to finally have a name for that mysterious face" he chuckled and I smiled. "Same here" I said. He walks away and I sip on my water.
"Sooooo who's that you're smiling cousin?" A light red echidna with green eyes asked. "Remember that hedgehog I told you about last week?" Knuckles replied handing her the ticket. "That him?" She asked and he nods. "Mmm he's cute maybe you should give that a shot I mean you meet up once more must be fate" she said. "Really Dahlia?" He said. "You know I'm right" she smiled and started to cook. "Fine... he is really cute" knuckles smirked and poured the wine in a glass. "Good luck~" she winked and knuckles rolled his eyes.
"Ok here's your wine and your food will be out shortly" knuckles said as he set the glass down. "Thank you" I said. He starts to walk away and I had to take the chance now or I'm never going to gain the courage. "Hey um what time do—" "7" he turned and smiled with a wink then walked away. I smiled and felt my heart beating with joy.

I waited next to my car outside of the restaurant where my nerves started to get to me. I haven't been on a date in two years. When knuckles walked out he was in a different shirt and jeans. "You ready?" He asked and I nodded. "Hey do you by any chance have water I'm kinda thirsty." He asked. "Yeah hang on" I said and opened my trunk. I grabbed the water bottle full of holy water and handed him the bottle.

Of course I'm gonna have to test him to see if he's a vampire first.
