Society is the most judgmental thing ever.
It's like no one can get it right, especially women.
We have to be beautiful but not to pretty to cause competition with other girls.
We can't be fat but we can't be too skinny either without being called a whale or a stick
We have to wear makeup because we'll look ugly without it but not too much to the point where we're a "try hard"
We can't show too much skin or we're asking for it but if we don't show any skin we're a bore
Your not supposed to get with guys because it makes you a slut but if you don't get with any boys your a tease and lame
You have to be smart but not too smart to be classified as a nerd but also not too dumb to be a bimbo
Every day since women were old enough to understand they've been told how to live
"that's too short, you practically asking for it"
"no guy will ever want you will those rolls"
"eww you slut"
"your supposed to act like a lady"
act like a lady
that's what we're telling children
what is being a lady?being polite?
being pretty?
being thin?
None of those
it's having to live in an impossible and judgmental world with fear everyday wondering if you'll add to that 97%
having to hold your keys in between your knuckles while you walk
carrying pepper spray and taking self defense classes
there are so many wrong ways to things as a woman that there never seems to be a right way
When will there ever be a right to those wrongs?
..........................................................................................
heyyyyyyyyy
to any people reading this and trying to say stuff about
" it's men too"
"not all men"
this is not about men it's about how women in society are expected to live with the fact that men have been allowed to act towards women this way since the start of time and no one has batted an eye.
