OBX Barry's Little Sister

Chapter 1

Rays of sunshine leaking through the tapestry hanging over the bedroom window crept through and into Eva's eyes as she lay there staring at her graffiti-covered ceiling basking in the fact she didn't have to listen to her brother Barry yelling at her to get up for school today and she was finally free for the summer.

Excited to spend the days filled with hanging out with her best friends, going surfing, and having fun.

As John B liked to say, "we are the Pogues, and our mission this summer was to have a good time."

And we planned to do just that.

Not knowing how long she had just laid there in her own thoughts she decided she should probably start getting ready for her day, for whatever the day brought her. Moving her head to the side she looked at her table side clock seeing it was almost noon.

She smiled and then stretched out her body and relished in how good she felt to have slept for so long without hearing any yelling or cussing this morning.

She loved sleeping in as late as she could in the mornings, she was definitely not a morning person, though she tried to be sometimes.

Sitting up and hanging her feet over her bed that lay flat atop a box spring that sat directly on her floor, she scooted her feet into her slides stood up, and stretched her body out again. That felt good. What can I say I'm a growing girl I need my stretches.

Walking a couple steps to her dresser mirror looking at her disheveled hair, she pulls it up into a messy bun and walks out to her hallway to go to the bathroom next to her room to take a quick shower.

Not washing her hair as it would do no good in this humidity today, she relaxes as the sweat from the night's sleep washes away from her body in the cool water she ran.

Stepping out and putting her sleep shorts and tank top she had previously on and slipping into her slides she cleans up her mess in the bathroom.

Looking in the mirror to wipe her eyes before starting her facial care routine that she only half ass keeps up with. Finally done and refreshed she walks to the kitchen to look for something cool to drink and something to eat.

As she stands in the kitchen drinking a cup of OJ and snacking on a pop tart she looks around the small single wide and finally realizes she hasn't heard nor seen her brother all morning. That's odd..

She went to reach over and set her cup down right as the trailer door slammed open making her jump and shriek sending her once refreshing OJ sailing through the air and crashing on the kitchen floor.

"HEY EVVVVAA YA AWAKE YET!!? JJ screams while waltzing in the front door he just slammed open.

"Jeesuz H Christ JJ!! What the hell dude, are you trying to give me a heart attack!?"

"HAHA Sorry Eva didn't see Barry's bike out front figured it's just you in here. Thought I'd give you a nice wake up call!"

"And by wake up call you couldn't have just I don't know, maybe have actually called my phone and not come busting through my door and hollering for everyone in the cut to hear?!?"

"Asshole."

"Aww you love me Eva don't be mad."

Yeah yeah.. "Anyways what's up JJ?"

"Not much, I'm starving."

"Of Course you are.." "So you didn't see Barry out there anywhere?" "On your way here or anything?"

"Nah, haven't seen him since I left here yesterday, why what's up?"

"Dunno haven't heard from him, didn't even know he wasn't here, and he's usually yelling at me to get out of bed by now."
