I woke up the following morning alone in my hotel room feeling on top of the world. It was my birthday and I was so excited to finally be eighteen; an adult... I was not a little girl anymore. I could finally go out drinking with the band after their shows and I was looking forward to it!

I got dressed and headed down to breakfast and I sat with the band, who were just chatting amongst themselves as always. Hannah and Oli arrived not long after me and my sister dropped her things on the seat next to me with a heavy exhale. "Oh man, I'm so tired. I really need a coffee." she groaned before disappearing to the buffet for her caffeine fix. Oli came over after saying hello to his band mates and sat down opposite me. "Happy Birthday, Hails." he said. He was the first person to actually remember and acknowledge my birthday and it made me smile.
"Thanks Oli." I replied happily.
"So you can come out drinking with us tonight, huh?" he questioned.
"I can and I will." I replied. Hannah came back over with her coffee as well as one for Oli and sat down next to me.
"What are you doing?" she asked, obviously hearing the end of our conversation.
"Coming out drinking with you tonight." I replied.
"Ohhhhh! Happy Birthday!" she suddenly squealed before hugging me quickly. "I can't believe you're finally an adult." she stated before sipping her coffee. I could! I had been counting down the days! We ate breakfast as the guys wished me a Happy Birthday once Hannah had reminded them all, then we boarded our mini bus to Dublin.

About twenty minutes into the five-hour trip, which included taking the bus on a ferry, Hannah came and sat in the seat beside me, a gift bag in her hands. "This is from Oli and I." she said as she handed it to me. I was usually sceptical of my sister's presents because she didn't really seem to know what I liked, but I opened it and found clothes inside from Oli's clothing brand 'Drop Dead', a lip gloss kit from Kat Von D cosmetics, as well as a necklace and earrings - from my sister's favourite brand apparently. They were cool, kind of gothic and not too girly. I didn't really wear jewellery, but I actually liked them. Even the lip gloss kit was nice since it was just nude kind of colours. Their gift was really nice and my sister did make a lot of effort. I particularly loved the t-shirts from Oli's clothing brand because they were really cool and wearing them around the band would make me feel like I fitted in with everyone.
"Thank you so much." I said to her with a smile.
"I'm going to give you a makeover tonight too, for your first night out with us." Hannah gushed.
"A makeover? What do you mean?" I asked with concern.
"Well, I thought I could do your makeup and let you borrow an outfit. I don't really think you should wear jeans and a t-shirt to your birthday celebrations." she stated. I don't really know why I agreed to it, but I did.

We got to the hotel in the afternoon and had some free time, then Hannah came to my room with clothes and makeup right around five. I really wasn't into getting dressed up and being fashionable, I certainly wasn't into having a full face of makeup on but I let my sister do whatever she wanted. She straightened my hair and spent a solid hour doing makeup, but I refused to wear false eyelashes, that was a step too far. When she was done, she sat back and cocked her head to the side with a smile. "God, I'm a fucking genius." she stated as she stared at me. When I looked in the mirror, I barely recognised myself. I had never looked more like my sister than I did right at that moment, though, she still had the tattoos and piercings that made her look way more cool than me. "You actually look good, Sis." she said as I inspected the winged eyeliner, dark eyeshadow and matte brown lips she'd put on me. I wasn't sure whether to be offended or take her words as a compliment...

She put me in one of her dresses, a short, black one that made me feel a bit awkward, and she literally chuckled as I stood in front of her. "You actually look like you're related to me now." she said before insisting we take a photo for Instagram. I guess I had finally become 'good enough' for her social media now that I looked somewhat like her younger, less-cool clone.
