Chapter 3: Special Meeting

You are in the hangar for your mech. There are no battles for today, and the pilots for next month's match are just in the arena to mingle with the fans.

You agreed to let Mikan's friends come in and hang out with you before you are scheduled to go into the arena with the others. Kazuichi is geeking out over the Knight mech and Gundham, in his own world, is talking about having a powerful ally in his crusade.

"Nice to meet you guys. Mikan's told me about you all."

Hajime: "Glad to meet you as well, Y/N. We've seen your matches. Nothing is held back during your fights."

"I'm used to it, and they're the ones that started it."

Sonia Nevermind admired the mech.

Sonia: "Knight, it's a very fitting name for such a machine."

Mahiru: "By the way, where is Mikan? Wasn't she right behind us?"

You looked around and saw Mikan running towards you. She tripped on an oil puddle and nearly fell, but you caught her and set her down gently.

Mikan: "Thank you, Y/N."

"Don't mention it."

Nagito: "Look at that. Mikan didn't end up in an embarrassing situation. I mean, someone did have to keep from from ending up in one. But, you know, still."

Peko: "Mikan said you fought off a bunch of people who were picking on her and got hurt."

"Yeah, that happened, but it's nothing I can't handle. I just got a small cut and that was it."

Fuyuhiko: "From what Mikan said, it was more than a small cut."

Mikan: "I told him to take it easy for a few days while his hand was healing."

"And we came to an agreement: I protect her and she, per my crew and sponsor's advice, essentially helps me tend to my wounds whenever I get an injury."

Sonia: "Wow, what an amazing deal you two have decided."

Kazuichi: "Maybe Mikan might learn to have a little bit of confidence."

Mikan: "Well, I won't deny that, but I was already trying to work on that."

Nagito: "He meant no offense. It's just a good thing that you've made another friend."

"Does he ever stop smiling?"

Chiaki: "We're not sure."

"Well, if you guys want, you can take a look at Knight's cockpit."

Kazuichi and Sonia gained stars in their eyes after hearing this.

"But, if you dent it or wreck the hangar, I will beat the living daylights out of you all."

Kazuichi: "Message received."

Kazuichi and the others went to get a look at the cockpit as Mikan walked next to you.

Mikan: "Thanks again for the other day, and for helping me this time."

"No worries. I know we haven't met for long, but you can always count on me."

Mikan blushed at you as you continued looking at everyone viewing the cockpit.
