Through teary eyes I bashed my way past a crowd surrounding something, something I cannot see quite yet, my sockets leaking and begging to know what's grasping everyone's attention. Whilst crashing into random people I encountered a man, someone whom I knew back in my old town. Dark shaggy hair was his go to, an inverted cross plastered on his forehead and a leather trench coat he donned whilst wearing oddly shaped earrings; as he always did.

"Long time no see, y/n."

I shoved him away, knowing my only goal was to know what the commotion was about.

The crowd was busy yet silent, the only sound was my breathing and whimpering from rushing, only desperate to know.

I found it.

The commotion was for a tube. A small, semi-transparent tube, from what I can make out it has pills inside it. The crowd silently staring daggers into the piece of plastic, what's in there?

I reached my steady hand out in curiosity, the surrounding crowd gasping at me kneeling down to open the tube, the tab opened to re-

I shot up from my slumber, a smooth layer of sticky sweat prominent on my skin, my now widened eyes darting across my bedroom, looking for him. My shaky hands swept through my knotted hair in worry of what my dream was for, all dreams have a meaning they say.

'What was that about?' I pondered.

I scrambled to find my phone and check the time, 16:38. Luckily I had no more clients for the rest of the day or else I would've had to have had a tough time explaining why I didn't answer my door.

The Kurta calmly walked into his and his friend Leorio's shared apartment, alerting his lanky companion with the sound of his spiffy loafers. A muted hum erupted from the man, a hum of curiosity.

Their apartment was always minimalistic- no scratch that there's always scattered papers of Leorio's medical revision and Kurapika's used contacts sprawled about. They were comfortable with each other indeed, but always cleaned up after themselves when they grasped the chance.

"So~ how'd it go?" Leorio cooed his friend from his stool, earning an annoyed groan from the blond.

"It was refreshing for the woman was genuinely interested, however I still see it as pointless."

The light in the home was dimmed, the time was now 5pm, forming a moody and rustic atmosphere in the always glowing apartment. Leorio stood from his lifted chair and trodded over to his man friend, whom was still dizzy from his eyes forming into that infamous gorgeous but frightening scarlet hue.

A long sigh ran out the blond, "Not to mention the fact that i'm a busy person, I have no time to be meddling with my mentality. I think you should email y/n back and say t-"

"I reckon you shut up before I smack your gloomy face, you're going whether you like it or not." Leorio sarcastically but not sarcastically piped, "Again as a friend i'm continually worrying about you and I know- oh my just why don't you look after yourself buddy."

In order not to bump into his friend, Kurapika calmly swished his shoulders to pass Leorio and head to the cupboard, where the alcohol was stored. With Leorio being a casual drinker, there was always a drawer stacked with copious amounts of alcoholic beverages. The blond man lobbed his cellphone on the counter and poured a glass of whiskey, taking a swift swig, wincing at the burning sensation sizzling his throat.

"Hey."

Kurapika whipped his head to his concerned friend, who would always stick with him till the end, an annoyed expression plastered on his pale, porcelain face.

"I know times are tough pal but-" Leorio sighed into his hand, "Y'know what you take care of yourself in what ever fashion you see fit, i'm sick of my words going through deaf ears."

The blond grimaced at the medical students attitude whilst watching him walk away to his room in anger. Leorio controlled his frustration better than Kurapika did, he knew that already, but he's also aware to not converse with him at this moment of time and to apologise later.

However, Kurapika still continued to drink no matter how it infuriated his companion. The Kurta is well aware of his deteriorating lifestyle and believes he has no other purpose other than to-

RING

RING

His phone chimed, muting all other pestering noises in his head and replacing them with the most annoying ringtone he's ever heard. The lone man picked the phone he threw on the counter to reveal the caller.

It was a phone number he couldn't recognise, which resulted in him declining and thinking it was a scam caller. But this didn't deter the other caller as they continued to bell out his phone.

"Hello?" Kurapika's voice laced with spite at the annoying caller.

'Hi! This is y/n from todays intake session, I hope this isn't too much of a bother but I received an email from your friend informing me that therapy is over, did you agree to this?'

The Kurta's eyes widened at the fact that Leorio emailed that therapist, even though Kurapika literally told him to. Nonetheless the man paused and thought if therapy would genuinely help him, the woman wasn't an issue to him and she also had an aunt in the Kurta. It'd also be a time to possibly reflect.

Maybe he'll give it one more go.

'Good evening y/n, i'm afraid that I haven't agreed to that and I shall have a thorough talk to him later...'

'Alright alright that's fine, how're you getting on?'

Their conversation lasted a short half hour, talking of mindless subjects.

'I have a free tomorrow if you'd like to come for another session at 6? And i'm definitely not saying this because I want to read that cookbook...'

'Haha, I may be able to come. I shall bring the book as you wish."

Why am I talking to a therapist like a long lost friend?
