"Fuck," Riley muttered, staring down at his phone. He repositioned himself into a less slouchy position on his bed as his eyes stayed glued to the screen.
"What?" Aaron asked in a low, scratchy voice. He was changed into sweats and a t-shirt, clearly waiting for his insomniac roommate to sleep.
"Check the group chat," Riley told him, not looking up.
"My phone's dead, man." When Riley's head snapped in his direction with an expression riddled with surprise, he rolled his eyes and added, "Hey, it's not my fault you texted me all of fourth period."
Riley blushed and looked back down at his phone, muttering, "Whatever."
"What's going on?" Aaron hopped onto the bed beside Riley, who scooted a little to the right so he could fit. Riley started highlighting text messages in the Delinquents group chat-excluding Chase-with his thumb for Aaron to skim through.
