Some of the most common snapdragon meanings associated with snapdragons include graciousness, strength, deception, mystery, magic, and protection. Snapdragons are often seen as a symbol of graciousness and elegance due to their delicate, unique blooms and the way they stand tall and proud.

August checked her phone to see which flower she could paint and smiled when she found one. A text popped up on her screen, and she smiled. They were here. She abandoned her room for the time and moved to get the door just as two solid raps sounded. She stepped back in a sudden reflex when Claude appeared from the living room right before her.

"Oh, sorry. I think the guys are here." Claude said.

"Yep." August lifted a hand to allow him to move ahead of her, and he opened the door to welcome their friends' bright faces. "Hey, girls!" They rushed in and hugged her first all at once, giggling with glee.

Claude did not comment on their little bubble of joy and looked back at the boys standing there with the same look of curiosity. "Yeah, they act like she's been gone for ages."

Peter smirked. "In girl time. Two days is practically a century." They laughed and followed Claude into the living room after bypassing the girls.

"Hey Mom, would you mind if I invite my friends over for the weekend?" August asked, looking up from her phone.

Asora glimpsed at her daughter from where she sat working on her tablet ordering products, then sighed. "Of course you can. No sex in the house while they're there." Auggie scoffed, and she laughed playfully. "I mean it, kiddo. Aren't teenagers all hormones and pent-up emotions? At least make sure everyone uses protection."

"Mom," August laughed and set down her phone. "We're gonna watch movies, play stupid games, talk about," she rolled her wrist, "Anything, and just chill."

"Hmm, sure. You can have them over, and please keep my house clean." Asora said. She giggled, "You and those boys, ever thought of having a girlfriend? I know you like girls too."

August nodded. "Yeah, I don't know. They asked once if I ever wanted one, and well, I don't know, maybe we'll find the right one to fit us." Her mom nodded.

"Well, if you ever do, you can always talk to me about it. I'll be there to lend you an ear if you ever need to talk, promise." Asora said, patting her leg.

"Thank you, mom. I appreciate it." August said, covering her hand mom's hand.

August called her mom once she and the girls separated. "Hey, mom. We're all here, and I promise we'll be on our best behavior." She said, walking away from everyone for a moment.

"Ah, well, I made sure to stock the fridge. I'm staying downtown so I can receive the shipment that's coming in early tomorrow. You'll be fine without me, right?"

She chuckled, nodding to herself. "Yes, mom. Be safe. I love you."

"I love you too. Have fun, sweetie." They hung up, and August sighed as she held the phone to her chest.

"Everything okay?"

August hummed at the sound of Bucky's voice and nodded. "Yeah," she faced her boyfriend, "just telling mom that everyone was here."

"Cool. Is she coming home later?" Bucky inquired. She shook her head, casting her eyes down. "Still working herself to the bone?" Auggie nodded. He shrugged. "Your mom will be okay. And if you ever want to check in on her, I'll be more than happy to drive over to the shop or her studio so you can make sure of that, okay?" Her glassy hazel-green eyes finally found his.
