~Samantha's P.O.V~

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock playing its usual annoying tune. I rubbed my eyes lazily and clicked the 'off' button on the clock as I sat up groggily. I shielded my eyes from the summer sun seeping through my window. I checked the time on the clack, 8:35, I sighed and walked to my door. I opened it and headed towards the bathroom, glancing downstairs as I did so. "Father isn't home", I mumbled to myself, he probably left a couple hours ago. I walked into the bathroom and picked up my brush as I ran it through my hair gently, enjoying the peaceful quietness of the house. I put the brush back onto the counter and grabbed a hair tie and but my hair into low ponytail. I walked out of the bathroom and down the stairs and into the kitchen. I opened a cabinet with my father's stuff like lighters, bottle openers, spare keys, and even spare money. I grabbed a 5$ bill and closed it, it's funny how he could never notice if his money was missing but he could notice if a singular beer was missing.
I shoved the dollar into my pocket and walked to the front door to put on my shoes, I was going to use the money to grab something from the market, it wasn't far, but it was still a bit of a walk. I tied my shoes and headed out the door, locking it behind me. I walked down the street for a good 5 minutes before I arrived at the small market, I walked in just to be met with Mindy standing in snack section. She must of seen me because she smiled brightly and waved at me. "Hey Sam! I didn't expect to see you here!" She announced, skipping over to me. "I just came here to get something for breakfast." I said tiredly, "So did you make up our mind?" she questioned. I cocked and eyebrow, "What do you mean?", "About the 'thing' we are doing later today in the woods!" she spoke. It took me a moment to think as we walked to the fruit before I remembered, the damn thing about summoning something.
"I mean I guess, are you sure you want to do this? Something bad might happen." I said in a hushed tone, earning an eyeroll from Mindy. "Listen, its summer and hanging out at the park has gotten boring. Randy is waiting for me back at the park to get the stuff we need for the ritual, are you in? Or are you going to be a wuss puss?". She sounded annoyed, which was rare for her. She was a very bubbly and happy person, so it was weird hearing her annoyed. I grabbed a small bowl of assorted fruits and shook my head lightly, "Fine, but if anything happens, I'm blaming it on you two." She seemed pleased with my answer because her face beamed with happiness as she dragged me to self-checkout. I quickly paid for my stuff we both left, gabbing a plastic fork on the way out. What am I getting myself into?
