Samantha's P.O.V
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The night was peaceful, Father stayed asleep until he woke up from his nap and walked to his room. I heard him turn on his tv in his room and watch his usual game show, answering the questions given to the players like the tv could hear him. I stayed in my room doodling away, I couldn't leave any time after the streetlights went out, meaning I was stuck in here until they came back on tomorrow morning. I was just doodling random things like people or characters from cartoons I used to watch in the mornings before school. As my pencil flowed smoothly across the paper, I heard the phone line from the kitchen ring. My head jolted up at the sudden noise as I heard my father's heavy footsteps from the hallway, down the stairs, and into the kitchen to interrupt the ringing.
I heard him groan as he called my name, "Samantha! Someone is on the line down here!" I was slightly confused as I sat up and made my way to the door, who would be calling me this late? I looked back at the alarm on my dresser, 10:48, with the time, it's probably one of my friends. I headed down the stairs and into the kitchen, meeting my father next to the phone line. He practically shoved the phone into my hands before walking off and mumbling something along the lines of "Make it quick". I brought the phone up to my ear and listened intently, only to be met with light sniffles and a small "Hello?" from the other end of the line. I immediately knew who it was, it was Mindy!
"Mindy! What's wrong?" I spoke, Mindy was a pretty resilient girl, so when she cried, it was from something bad. I heard her voice choke up as she tried to speak. "C-could you just come over? I n-need someone to hug..." She choked out, I turned my head around to check my surrounding before answering again. "Really? Like, right now? It's really late and-" "Can you come over or not?!" She snapped, causing me to jerk back from the phone in surprise. I sighed and agreed to meet at her house in a few, she gave me her address and I wrote it on a slip of paper close by. The call ended as I headed upstairs to close my door, to suppress any suspicion my father may have.
I slipped my shoes on as I grabbed my hoodie, putting that on as well. Slowly, I opened the front door and closed it behind me once I was outside. I began my journey to a street close to the diner I had been to a couple hours prior to this moment, the walk was decently far but not far enough for me to want to turn around and forget about it. I made it onto her street and searched for her house number listed on the slip of paper. I eventually found her house, a light blue house with a yellow tinted roof and a large kitchen window and a small window on the side of the house. I didn't know what to do so I just walked up to the house and knocked a few times and waited for someone to answer.
After a minute or so, I heard the door creak and a face peak out from behind it, Mindy! I walked up to the door as she opened it more so I could walk in. I walked through the small entrance of the door and stood next to her as she continued to sniffle and lock the door behind me. She turned around and looked at, I stared back at her, taking in every bit of her expression. Her green eyes were red and puffy, her nose was dusted with red, and her cheeks also had a small dust of red on them. It would be stupid if I said it hadn't been obvious, she'd been crying. I sighed and spread open my arms, but she grabbed one of my arms and dragged me to, what I assume, her room.
I felt her drag me into her room and sit me down on her bed. She walked back to her door and shut it, making her way back to me afterwards. She sat next to me and hugged me tightly, letting some tears spill. I slipped my arms around her and hugged her back, not as tightly as she was. I listened to her sniffle and cry for a while before asking, "Do you want to talk about it?" I felt her slightly tighten her grip before choking out a small "Yes". We stayed the same for a while, up until she finally seemed to of calmed down and lean back, undoing the embrace. I looked at her face, which was soaked in fresh tears from just a moment before, waiting for an explanation. I can only imagine what could've happened to upset her this much.

Hey guys, I know that I was gone for a while, but I have a good reason as to why! School has been a bit much and I have been sick with the flu for a while too. This chapter was supposed to be posted for a while, but I never had the time or the energy to post it. There probably won't be another chapter until Monday because of some personal stuff, also, I will be turning 13 soon! So, I won't post any time after next Friday because of this! Just thought that I would let you guys know!
