Legend
"Ayo this shit is ridiculous man! Look at the time Monét, we late AGAIN!" It's nothing I hate doing more than waiting on a female. Tell me how class starts at 8:30 and we still home at 9. I've been waiting on her for the last fifteen minutes. She the real reason we're late almost everyday.
"My bad my bad, I'm here!" She came running down the stairs. I ain't the biggest fan of school but I wanna be done with it enough to be there on time. I ain't trynna fail no classes and have to repeat.
We left the house and I sped off hoping the traffic wouldn't be that bad. Luck ain't always on my side though. At 9:45 we were just pulling up to the school.
"See ya!" She said rushing to her class. I walked over to my locker to retrieve my books because I ain't the typa nigga to be walking around with a full book bag everyday. Some days I ain't even got one. As soon as I shut my locker, someone slammed right into me and fell to the floor. Tell me why it had to be Xhadia.
"Damn, you ain't never seen the no running sign!" I was about to reach out to help her up but I froze when she looked up at me. Tear stained cheeks, red glossy eyes and snot running down her nose. Of course I was taken aback. I wasn't expected this at all. I ain't never see Xhadia down farless in full blown tears.
"Yow wtf happened to you?" It came out harsher than intended. I meant no harm though I was genuinely curious but instead of answering me she got to her feet and ran off crying. It ain't my problem, got nothing to do with me in the slightest but how bad of a guy I gotta be to not check on shawty. My moms always say you can't be late twice. I'm already late for school and missed my first class so chasing after Xhadia not gonna change that. I followed her out into the parking lot as she raced for her car. She was fumbling with the car keys, poor thing. It was a sad sight honestly. I opened the driver side door and gently grabbed her trembling hands.
"Calm down ma, you can't drive in this state. Where you expect to go anyway?" I tried talking some sense into her. Xhadia was a complete mess right now.
"Look how bout I text Simone or sumn-
"No." She shut me down immediately. Maybe this is about the best friend.
"Y'all had a fight or some?" She just shakes her head.
"I ain't good with confrontation like this so ion know what to do here man." I said truthfully.
"Then leave me alone, damn." Her voice was hoarse but she was trynna give me attitude, tuh.
"I'd be an asshole to leave you here a hot mess like this."
"I'm fine Legend. Don't you have class to get to?"
"Don't you? Look I ain't leaving till you calm down aight. Shit, if you wanna leave so bad at least let me drive. I ain't trynna see your ride on fox news." She finally looked up at me and just starred for a minute probably contemplating before she finally gave me the keys. She scooted over to the passenger seat allowing me the driver's seat. I had to adjust the damn seat because of her short ass. I don't know how girls could drive sitting so close to the damn steering wheel. We left the school compound much against the security's request but like I said she had a medical emergency. I bet he didn't buy it but we were gone now so what could be done.
"This your house?" Her first words since we got in the car.
"Yeah."
"Wow, he takes me to his crib." She sarcastically said.
"If you wanted me to take you anywhere else, I think you could've said so c'mon inside."
"Imma tell you now, it ain't much to eat but I could offer you water though."
