behind closed doors

When Asami crawled back into her room she heard steps coming towards her room, she quickly shut the window. Her dad had walked in the room unannounced.

“Asami what are you doing you should be studying right now not staring at the new neighbors. Those  type of people are nothing but trouble”
“Sorry father I'll get back to studying”
“Ah ah ah Asami you know you consequences for getting of task”
“Dad please I'm sorry” Asami said with tears filling her eyes “It's the only way you'll learn. Now arms out” Asami held her arms out trying not to flinch while Hiroshi lashed a ruler over her arms she watched through tear filled eyes as the blood flowed down to the carpet. “Now get your arms cleaned up and get back to studying”

Once he left the room Asami sunk down to the floor. Within minutes her mom came in to comfort her. She cleaned up Asami's arms and helped her get the blood off the carpet. While they were still cleaning Hiroshi announced that he would be leaving on a business trip for a couple months. Yaskouo his wife knew that it was a little she knew that there was another woman he was going to see.  But she acted as if she didn't know.

She knew that it was the only time in the year she and Asami were safe. Neither of them would be subject to his abuse and would finally be able to leave the house.

The only reason Yaskouo hasn't left Hiroshi is because she has no money and nowhere to go but now with Yaskouo has got an idea but she needs help.

~~the next day~~
While she could Asami snuck out her window and crawled across the branch to Korra's window she tapped three times and Korra opened the window. Korra helped her into her room and she spent the rest of the day with Korra without either parents knowing. She snuck back into her room right before sundown. Her and her mom sat in silence as she ate dinner. Asami couldn't help looking at her moms black eye. She felt bad her dad would get drunk and angry and take it out on her mom. He punched,kicked, and threw stuff at her mom.

Asami's eyes filled with tears she felt so bad about how her mom was treated.

“Sweetie what's wrong” her mom asked,her voice raspy after screaming and crying the day before. “I'm sorry you have to go through this” Asami tries to wipe her eyes but the tears keep coming. “Don't worry we have time before he comes back just remember  don't tell anyone I'm thinking if we get to know the neighbors we might have an escape. “Well I met their daughter and we seem to get along. Her mom seems nice but I haven't met her. '' Asami's eyes light up when talking about Korra and it brings a smile to Yaskouo's face.
“I'm happy you have a friend but don't forget school starts next week so try to make friends so you stay out of the house”. “But what about you” Asami asked with a worried face” ‘I'll be ok”
“Promise” “I promise”
