'Y/n, come on! why are you lingering?' Lillian shouted back at me. 'Sorry Lilu, I won't be long!' Everyone was already off the train and leaving, I could feel the platform getting less crowded by the second. Still, I really didn't want to say goodbye to Pansy. She was going on a 2 month vacation to travel around America. That meant not seeing her for at least 2 months. Of course we would write to each other but that still kind of sucked. 'I really am going to miss you.' Pansy had tears in her eyes and hugged me tight. I felt a lump in my throat coming up. 'I'm going to miss you too, Pans, but we'll write each other every week right?'
'Always!' tears rolled down my cheeks as we hugged one last time and said our goodbyes.

My parents weren't there, as usual, to pick us up. Our house elf, Tencin, was. He was tapping his foot impatiently. I hurried over to my siblings who were both frowning and urgently whispering to each other. I made my way over to them, wiping the tears from my cheeks. 'There she is! Ok, let's go.' Lillian said. Tencin started walking us to the car. I was pretty tired but didn't really mind the walking, I actually didn't really mind anything because my mind was still with Pansy. Even the ridiculously dressed boys who passed us or the annoying comments they made were unnoticed. It was only when we entered the car that I realised how quiet everyone was.
'What is it?' I whispered annoyed, fastening my seat belt. My sister just gave me a look as if I was interrupting an adult conversation. Julian on the other hand did respond.
'Apparently you did something at school that father isn't happy about.' Julian said in his normal voice. Tencin started the car and drove off.
My mind went back to last semester. In my opinion I didn't do anything bad at all last semester, at least nothing that would gravely upset my father.
'Are you sure?' I asked surprised.
'That is what Tencin told us. Now just shut up about it, if it is this bad then you did something messed up. Y/n, you haven't seen Morpheus Malfoy angry before so just know that it really doesn't get worse.' I could hear the horror seeping into his voice while talking about our father. What could I have done?
Julian's tone and the way he refused to look at me longer than a few seconds really unnerved me. The rest of the ride home I just looked out the window, the sun was already starting to set. I wish Pansy was here.

Thank Merlin that my parents were not home when we arrived and I got some time to go to the kitchen and eat my death row meal in peace. My lasagne was a bit too hot but after about 5 minutes it was safe to eat. I was sitting at the white marble kitchen table. This part of the house is what you would call "the heart of the house" at least it was for me and my siblings, for my parents it was just a kitchen. Only now, I was alone in the kitchen, looking out of one of its windows which had a good view of the garden. Alas, there were the sounds of a car driving up a gravel driveway. My parents were home.
Quickly, I rose to my feet and prepared Myself. Deep breaths, deep breaths, good, you can do this, it will be fine.
'Y/n! There you are!' my mother sounded so happy to see me? She wore a warm smile and her ministry uniform.
'What is it, hun? You look like you have just walked through a ghost for the first time.' She sounded so authentic. I have never had my mother behave this way. Am I not supposed to get punished? What is this?
Baffled I looked at my father, who looked glad to see me, and suddenly I felt as if I was in some alternate reality. There was this awkward silence. The air in between us seemed to be holding its breath just as much as I was. After what felt like a century my father scraped his throat.
'I think we should just skip right to the point.' his facial expression finally changed to a normal one, the serious face. 'Have a seat, y/n. So, as you know, we, Malfoys, are pureblood. This comes with the pureblood culture. You know...- 'Yes father, I know. Death eater culture is common in our houses.' My dad was about to raise his voice, scolding me for interrupting, but he changed his mind mid opening his mouth. 'Well, yes, well, since you are turning 15 in the summer we are going to have to introduce you to all of the other houses. Most of them are tied to the dark lord. We know how you feel about this, but we do not have a choice.' My father looked stern and my mother was smiling as if she was being held at gunpoint.
Great, so this was what they are so worked up about. The problem with this is that I think I would rather have an angry Morpheus Malfoy than have to spend time with literal death eaters. I probably already had but didn't know because their identities stay hidden under those stupid mask they wear, I wouldn't be surprised if my uncle, Lucius, was a death eater. Death eaters are vile and quite frankly, their opinions are just wrong. I hate Voldemort. He uses fear to control people and makes them kill for him. He is a disgusting man, if you can even call him a man at all. But I saw the urgency in my fathers eyes. He really wanted me to do this. I guess if it is just one night it will be fine?
'Fine, I will do it.' I sighed. 'Am I excused?' Now it was my parents turn to look baffled.
'Yes, darling, that will be all.'
I left for my room. An introduction to pureblood society, strange.
