Kidnapped

Prologue

My feet pounded along the forest floor as I pushed myself to run faster. Elizabeth was right in front of me. We were both panting, despite the fact that we were both star athletes. I nearly tripped several times over the uneven ground between the crumbly road and the uneven forest-ground.

"Quick! Into the trees!" Beth yelled. We ducked into the trees and kept running. After a few seconds, I heard the heart stopping sound of the van coming after us.

"I hear the van!" I yelled at Beth.

"Look! There's another road up ahead!" Beth told me over shoulder. I didn't look behind me because if I saw that terrible white and rusty van, I would freeze in fear like a deer in headlights.

Beth and I broke out of the trees and onto a paved road. Up ahead, I almost fainted because I saw Heaven on Earth. I saw a house, and in the house, there was light.
