Nick's journey took him across diverse landscapes, through dense forests, over towering mountains, and across vast plains. After days of relentless travel and combat, he decided to take a break. He found a suitable spot on a ridgeline, providing him with a clear view of his surroundings. It was an ideal location to wait for monsters to appear, allowing him to continue leveling up.

As he settled down, a sudden scream pierced the silence. It came from a nearby forest. Using his thermal sights, he spotted a group of humans running. He was unsure of the situation and who to target, so he decided to observe for a while.

After a few tense minutes, the humans emerged from the forest and headed towards his location. Nick switched to his binocular sights for a closer look. He noticed that the group was chasing a girl who was leading the pack. He considered intervening but decided to wait a bit longer to ascertain the situation.

Suddenly, the girl tripped and fell. She trembled as she faced her pursuers. One of them drew a sword, and without a second thought, Nick fired his main gun. The armor-piercing round pierced the sword-wielding man and the others beside him, killing them instantly. The remaining men, shocked by the sudden attack, formed a defensive stance.

The girl, terrified, watched as a massive, metal-like beast appeared from behind the ridgeline. It roared loudly, and with a thunderous blast, it fired a projectile from its long, tube-like weapon. The projectile exploded upon impact, shaking the ground and sending the men into a panic. Some ran, while others stood their ground. Those who stayed were crushed under the beast's massive body, while those who fled were gunned down by its secondary weapon that fired tiny projectiles at an extremely fast rate. Only a few lucky ones managed to escape with their lives.

Nick sighed in relief as he approached the girl, who screamed in fear and eventually passed out. Upon closer inspection, he discovered that she was an elf. He decided to stay with her until she woke up.

When she regained consciousness, she was met with the sight of the beast's huge, tube-like weapon. Terrified, she pleaded, "Please don't kill me!" Understanding her fear, Nick backed away to give her some space. Gradually, the girl calmed down and thanked the beast, saying, "Umm... thank you for saving me."

Nick attempted to respond, but his AI informed him that only he could hear his voice. Instead, soft sounds emanated from the tank, which the girl interpreted as a friendly gesture. She then said, "I'll be going on my way then!" and ran off. Nick decided to secretly follow her, ensuring her safety from a distance.

Nick had been quietly observing the elf girl from a distance, ensuring her safety as she navigated through the village. He saw other elves like her, living their lives in peace. Deciding to give them some space, he retreated for a while and spent the night farming, battling monsters, and leveling up. His efforts were fruitful, and by dawn, he had reached level 400.

Meanwhile, news of his exploits had reached town. A man dressed in expensive clothes was in a state of shock as he received the report. "What! A huge metal beast destroyed the whole of platoons 6, 7, and 8!" he exclaimed. His soldier confirmed the news, adding that the beast seemed to be protecting the elf girl. The man ordered a group to investigate the area and find out more about this metal beast.

The next morning, the elf girl, Aela, woke up and prepared to venture out again. Her parents tried to dissuade her, fearing for her safety, but Aela was adamant. She believed that the metal beast was friendly and would protect her. With that, she left her home and the village.

Nick, who had been watching from afar, continued to follow her. He was surprised when Aela suddenly stopped and said, "I know you're following me. I can hear you!" Nick was taken aback, wondering if she really knew he was there. But it turned out she was addressing a group of male elves who had been stalking her.

The leader of the group started flirting with Aela, even going as far as to kiss her hand. But Aela was not having any of it. She slapped him and declared, "I don't want anything to do with you and your dirty thoughts!" The boy, who was the son of the village chief, ordered his group to hold Aela. He told her that she had no choice but to submit to him.

Seeing this, Nick was filled with anger. He charged through the plantation at 60 kph, arriving at the scene in no time. His engine roared loudly, causing the boys to cower in fear and run away. Aela, relieved, thanked the beast and introduced herself. Nick tried to respond, but all that came out was a groan.

Aela then touched his chassis and chanted a spell. Suddenly, Nick found that he could talk to her. He yelled in excitement, thrilled at finally being able to communicate with her. Aela smiled at him, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their journey.
