True to her word, the woman took both Rook and Haya had started making their way to her village. Upon arriving, Rook couldn't help but ask, "Where are all les hommes?" (the men) which she only responded with, "Gone." and with that it stayed quiet. Once they had reached the deck, a young girl then held out her hand for Haya. She had long light purple hair, that was braided lying behind her, and hot pink eyes. As they sidled down, Haya had walked off with the girl playing with handmade dolls, while Rook went with the head woman, who came to be known as Sayuri. To be treated for his arrow wound that Haya had given him.

"Have you got nothing to boire? (drink) Rook asked, as he then let out a groan. Sayuri only looked at him with disappointment and ignored his request. "You have traveled far. And carried a great burden." she said instead. "I've had worse emplois." (jobs) he said, as he then started fixing his shirt back, "Anyway, she's not that heavy." he continued, as he looked over to where she was with the little girl, whose name was Qiqi. Sayuri only narrowed her eyes at him, as her right ear twitched. "I'm starting to think that you don't even know who she is." Rook only looked back at her. Not even saying anything, and instead waited for her to continue. But she said nothing, as she then looked over to Haya, eyes glowing with warmth. He then looked back over to Haya, and that is when it came to him. Who she really is.

"Maybe it needs a skirt? What do you think?" Qiqi asked. She held up the doll and clothing for Haya to see. "Yes, let's give her that." Haya said as she helped her with swinging the clothes to the doll. "Sayuri wants to see you." looking behind them, Qiqi only nodded and quickly got up, "Okay, I'll get going then." She then took back her doll and walked past Rook.

"Pourquoi tu ne me l'as pas dit?" (Why didn't you tell me) Rook said as he kneeled in front of Haya, once Qiqi was far enough. "What? I-" he didn't let her continue, "Was it because you'd think I would find it difficult of a task? Tu as raison." (you be right) he added. They stayed silent. With Haya now understanding what he was going on about, she looked off to the side. "I- I meant to tell you. But... I- I didn't know how. I didn't know if I could have trusted you." Rook didn't know what to feel. The fact that she couldn't trust him with her identity or with the fact that she forgot about him. "I'm sorry." she softly said, but he only shook his head, "Ouais..." (yeah) he then got up, and walked off, leaving Haya sitting there. And as she looked at him, she could feel her heartbreak, she knew who he was, and remembered him the moment she had moved his hair out of the way to look at his face better. "Rook Hunt... you are the boy that I first fell in love with, and the only one that I wished to marry on my 18th birthday. And now, here we are... we are both broken, with very little hope, I wish we had met in a different world. Away from this darkness."

Nighttime came fast. As Sayuri, Qiqi, Haya, and Rook, sat in the same hut, with both Sayuri and Haya sitting next to a sleeping Qiqi. "Our scars protect us. Without beauty, we are worthless to the queen. It's a sacrifice we made, so we could raise the children in peace. While their fathers are at war." Sayuri said. As she then looked up from the sleeping girl to Haya, "And you, your sacrifice will come." Haya only looked off to the side, looking at her tail, as if it was the most interesting thing in the world. "You must rest." Haya didn't say anything but still nodded her head.

And as Sayuri got up to leave, she saw Rook walking out the door.

Running after him, she stood in front of him blocking him from going any further. "You can't be planning on leaving her here after knowing the truth?" Sayuri questioned. As she continued to block his path, each time he would try to side-pass her. "Oui (yes), I know the truth. That is why she is better off being far away from me. Far away from the darkness that La Reine de la Mort, (The Queen of Death) had created. Everything that I ever loved and cared for had been taken away from me, I wish to not lose her a second time. She is safe here." He then gently pushed past her. All while Sayuri's ears lowered. Letting out a sigh, she just made her way back to the village instead.
