On the outskirts of Edinburgh, a loud snort caught the attention of Lian Burton, the mother of the 10 year old boy, who laughed at the sight of his younger sister being drenched in ice-cold water. The older woman gave her son a stern glare and rushed towards her daughter.

"It's okay, Odele dear. Just calm down, hm?" her mother said softly, as she tried to soothe her daughter's nerves.

But the 5 year old, Odele Burton couldn't, as the cold water dripped from her caramel locks. She blinked as she processed the water and then burst out into small tears, confused from what was happening, cold by the water and angry at her brother's rather joyous laughter.

Her father, Nicholas Burton though, tried to etch the scene forever into his mind, watching them all with a loving smile on his face. Nicholas Burton was a wizard born to muggle parents who were put off with the discovery that their only child was - in their terms, abnormal. But they didn't scorn him much, instead sent him away the moment he got his letter from Hogwarts and only looked for him when a strange chain of murders over the town took place.

The murders were later found to be done by the death eaters around Britain who were on a killing spree under the orders of You-Know-Who, or otherwise named as Lord Voldemort. Nicholas' parents, like many others, were afraid of dying and hence chose to side with the only resort that they could call theirs. Nicholas, the Hufflepuff head back then, hid his parents perfectly well, that even ages later when his first son Austin was born that they named their company of automobile parts as his.

The scene then fast forwards to the day Odele got her letter from the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry; the very school that her father studied in. Odele's grant of access to the school's famous library would no longer be a dream.

The letter received mixed reactions. For the little Odele, who just turned 11, it was a great chance to live the memories her father recalled fondly to her, and maybe just maybe, grow up as him. The little girl, having seen her father all her life, was happy to be able to do something as her hero did. She chuckled to herself as she could now say with pride that she truly resembled her father, in not just looks but magic as well!

On the other hand, the parents were concerned but for most parts of it they were happy. Not only would their youngest be sent to somewhat of a boarding school, but also that she'd be around folks she wouldn't be found as 'different' like the kids from her elementary school mocked her as.

But her brother, he felt envious of her. Jealous that she could do magic and he couldn't. Not that he ever hated her for it, but he felt rather alienated in the family, despite their mother being a muggle too. And all he did was give her a smile, mutter some congratulations and walk away to his room. The little Odele watched her brother walk away and felt her heart sink in.

That night Odele Burton dreamed of a beautiful yellow dragon with lonely grey eyes, who looked pained and small despite his gigantic frame.
