"Ahahhh!" I exclaimed, shocked to see the person in front of me. I released the hand I was holding. "What the fuck?" I said out loud, placing a hand on my chest as I was freaking scared for a few seconds.

"Exactly. What the fuck?" Raj said, shaking his hand, which I had held just moments before.

"This is Roop's room. Why are you here?" I asked him, confused.

"And who said that?" He asked, raising one eyebrow.

"I saw it with my own eyes," I replied.

"And what did you saww?" He asked, pointing to the word "saw" while still raising his eyebrow.

"I saw Roop entering this room" I said.

"Kya jija ji, do you know why Roop came into this room?" He asked.

"Because this is her room" I replied.

"That's why people say, 'Don't take actions if you don't know anything'" He said, moving towards his bed. He sat down and began rubbing his hair with a towel, indicating that he had just taken a shower.

"So, why did Roop come to your room, and where is Roop?" I asked, raising my voice.

"Khud dhund lijiye, jija ji" (Find out yourself, brother in law) He said, giving me a teasing smile.

Oh God, this man!

Just then, Roop opened the door. "Why are you shouting Raj?" She looked at me and then at Raj.

"Wrong timing, Roop," Raj said to her.

"What are you guys doing?" She asked, coming inside.

"Wo jija j-" He started to say, but I cut off Raj's sentence.

"I was searching for you. Where were you?" I walked towards her and hugged her.

"Where else should I have been? In my room, obviously," she said, looking confused.

"This is not your room?" I asked, looking at her face.

"No" she said, looking at Raj.

"So, what were you doing here after the engagement?" I asked.

"I was here to pick up my bag. I forgot my bag. Raj came here late because he had some work, so I asked him to bring my bag from home since he has an extra key to our house," she explained, looking at me and Raj with a confused expression.

"What's wrong with you guys? And why are you asking me these questions, Anirudh?" She asked.

"Nothing," I said.

"Nothing?" Raj asked, giving me a smile. I glared at him.

"Nothing" I repeated.

"Nothing" he echoed, walking in front of the dressing table to fix his hair.

"Maa da ladla Bigad gaya, Maa da ladla Bigad gaya," Raj started singing, teasing me.

I gave him a final glare, but he just smiled shamelessly at me.

Raj grinned and said, "Well, at least I know you're passionate about your fiance. But next time, make sure you're in the right room before you start getting romantic."

"What?" Roop asked.

"Nothing" I said.

Roop was still trying to process what had just happened.

"Let's go, Roop" I said, holding her hand, and we both walked out of the room. I closed the door behind us and hugged Roop tightly. But she didn't hug me back. I think she was still trying to digest the whole incident.

"I missed you, Roop," I said, while hugging her tightly.

She still didn't hug me back. "You missed me?" she asked, her voice sounding different.

"What's wrong with your voice?" I asked, getting up. She was looking at my back with her big eyes. I looked at my back.

That's when I saw my mom standing there, wrapping her arms around herself. Oh my god, I'm dead.

She walked towards me and grabbed my ear.

"Maaa, dard ho raha hai" (Mom, it hurts) I said, wincing in pain while holding my ear.

Roop tried to hide her smile, but she failed and started laughing. I glared at her innocently, and she stopped.

"Aise kya ghoor raha hai? Roop beti ke hasne se tujhe kuch problem hai?" (Why are you glaring at her? Do you have a problem with Roop laughing?) my mom asked, holding my ear even tighter.

"Aaaahhh, nahin nahin, haso Roop, haso" (No, no, go ahead and laugh, Roop) I said, rubbing my ear in pain. My ear had turned bright red.

"Ab chalo apne room me. Khabardaar agar room ke bahar ek kadam bhi rakha to" (Now go to your room, If you fake even one step outside....) my mom said, warning me not to step out of my room. I looked at Roop one last time.

My mom held my hand and dragged me towards my room. I looked back one last time, and Roop was waving at me. I smiled, and she gave me a flying kiss. I smiled back, but my mom held my hand tightly and pushed me inside the room.

I smiled back, but my mom held my hand tightly and pushed me inside the room

I hope he's okay.I thought to myself. Maa can be really strict sometimes. I chuckled, remembering the look on Anirudh's face when his mom dragged him away.
