"She isn't... after all, our engagement broke the moment I died, so to speak." he notices her eyes darken.

"Engage... engagement?"
"Our families engaged us the moment we were born, if I didn't turn into what I am, since I've reached maturity... I would've been married whether I loved her or not," he gently makes her look at him, "which is another reason why I'm grateful this change happened to me," her fingertips shake as she reaches up to his face.
"Rather than being in a loveless marriage, I have you," he says.
"Why... why would they try to force you both to marry each other?" it's something she can't understand.
"For a heir,"
"... a heir?"
"If I had a child with her, it would've connected our families, thankfully though, I don't have to worry about that anymore," he smiles, moving her hair out of her face again.
"Should we have a child?"
"We can have one if you'd like, but I think we should wait a bit longer, after all we are still young... I wouldn't want to put that toll on your body..." he says as she rests her head on his collarbone again. "Besides, we're bound together now, aren't we? No one can take me from you,"
"That's right..." she lightly touches the mark on his hand. "No one, not even another forest spirit, can break the bond," she smiles, relaxing once again.

'Lenore's is dead asleep,' he plays with a strand of her hair. He finds himself smiling as he gazes down at her, the bites on her neck he left, the softness of her features. He slowly turns his attention back to the book.
He turns the page. 'It is imperative for a solar spirit to never lose sanity, the consequences could be dire if it does happen.' he thinks about it for a moment, once again, his eyes gaze upon the woman sleeping peacefully in his arms.
'If I lost my sanity... does that mean I'll end up harming her?' the thought scares him. Lenore could get hurt because of him, if he loses any bit of sanity.
He continues reading as it goes into the next section. 'A solar spirit's mate is very important, it's likely that Ava picked a mate for the solar spirit reading this, and if she hasn't it is simply because she doesn't deem any of her sons or daughters worthy,' He feels Lenore shift in her sleep, getting comfortable.
'Lenore might like to know about that,' he smiles.
'The only beings compatible with solar spirits are forest spirits, and the only ones compatible with forest spirits are solar spirits, the heat of a solar spirit is more often than not, too intense for any other being to bear, however the forest spirits thrive off of that heat.' he turns the page.
His eyes light up with curiosity as he sees the illustration of a solar spirit, one half is normal, the other half has all black feathers, all black hair. 'In theory, once a solar spirit steadily goes onto his path of hating humans, as a spirit should, their hair and wings should turn black, and once that occurs they will likely be able to hear by voice. This is simply a theory made by myself, but it is possible.'
'Recently, a human dared to harm Ava's forest, a strand of hair turned black, and a few feathers turned black as well. I believe that is the first sign that I am beginning to hate them...'
Lenore makes a soft hum as she begins to wake up. "Did you rest well?" He smiles softly. She nods, snuggling close again. "I found what it might mean for my hair to turn black like this," she looks up at him curiously.
"What does it mean?"
"Im beginning to hate humans," he says, "apparently this change happened to the solar god as well once a human harmed the nature goddess's forest,"
"Then... Do you think this change happened because Anna tried to hurt me?" she asks, her face warming. 'He got protective over me then...' a small smile appeared on her lips.
"It's highly likely," he remembers the other page he read that he wanted to tell her about. "Also, according to this book, a solar spirit's mate is selected by the goddess, she waits until she finds the perfect match," he smiles. "The goddess deemed us a perfect match,"
She snuggles close again, a wide smile now. 'I'm going to rub this in Lillian's face,' she looks at the mark on the back of her hand. "Hey Milo?"
"Yes Lenore," he adjusts the way he's holding her, wrapping his arm tighter around her waist, his other hand still holding the book.
"Are you happy with me?" she asks. "Even though I'm creepy looking, even though my eyes are scary, are you really happy?"
"I am," he puts his book down, now holding her with both of his arms. "I don't think you're creepy Lenore, not in the least bit... and aren't my eyes scarier than your eyes?"
"No, your eyes are pretty, they aren't scary,"
"Your eyes are pretty too, I've never seen someone with violet eyes like yours,"
"What about my veins? Aren't they scary when they are black like this?" her brows furrow.
"No, they aren't," he makes her look up at him, "Lenore, everything about you is beautiful, your voice, your eyes, your hair, your skin, veins, everything," she softens.
"You really think so..." she smiles softly.
"I don't just think so, I know so," he gives her soft kisses on her face. He notices that it's getting dark out.
