By the end of the week, everyone was only talking about one thing: me. After the incident in the cafeteria, then the fight with demigod student, and now the "cheating" in class. From one student to the other, the rumors spread fast. Some details were forgotten, omitted or even changed. I don't even know how many different versions I have heard by now. That I have either faked it with a help from Reilly or that I made up the fight entirely and lied about it, then copied the homework or even stole it from someone to "uphold" my power reputation. New rumors were spread and everyone was looking at me every time I walked pass them through the halls. During high school, I was the invisible kid. For the most part, besides the regular bullying show Jason held every now and then, people usually didn't even know I was in the class with them. When I tried to ask for a lab partner or we were supposed to create a study group, my classmates were always so surprised when I appeared and asked me who I was, when did I swap schools or something similar. Now, suddenly I am the center of everyone's attention. I don't know if that's good yet or not. People keep avoiding me, moving out of the way when I walk by or leave the place when I get there. But there are some others who bump into me, trying to pick a fight and prove something. Or they start dissing me, making jokes and fun of me. The only ones left on my side are girls from the dorm. I can't even meet up with Reilly because of the fight I had with the demigod girl, and I am still banned from meeting any demigod student. Or at least nobody has told me if it's been lifted or not. Sigh. Now I am on my way to the last class of the day – Botany. Totally drained of energy from being talked about and stared at, I get to the class and sit in the back left corner. I loved coming into this classroom. It is decorated with black furniture that is covering most of the forest green painted walls but it wasn't depressing or anything. On the other hand, it was full of life. Many different plants and flowers were placed around each corner and side of the classroom. If you sat down at any desk, you would find a plant right next to it, it's touching you softly from time to time, or many of the desks had plants growing on them. Entwined around the wood, the ivy leaves brushing against your hands when you were writing down class notes. Then there were different potion bottles, candles, old lamps or even some books placed on the shelves of the onyx furniture. I always chose a desk close to the window so that I could zone out whenever I had something on my mind while I could be enclosed by the soft fragrance of jasmine that was planted right next to it. Putting my bag next to the wooden desk, I cross my arms on the top of it as a sit down and lay my head down. The classroom was slowly getting crowded with students coming in and taking their places. I sat there in silence while watched everyone get in and take their places or meet up with their friends to talk during the remaining time of break we had. There was a loud chatter between the students. They occasionally looked over their shoulders at me, but then quickly turned back. The lively talk was interrupted by the sound of low heels pounding on the wooden floor during quick short steps. They belong to the small figure, not taller than the sitting students, walking through the classroom, swiftly getting to the teacher's table. It is our Botany teacher, Professor Nannieya. Dressed in her usual attire which were many different older style clothes, usually in earthly colors, hidden behind a brown leather gardening apron sometimes. Her silver grey hair neatly styled into a small bun that is covered under her small pointy hat. She was a nice and kind older lady that always had a smile on her face and a spark of joy inside her blueish grey eyes. The professor clears her throat, getting everyone's attention and everyone gets quiet. Holding up her small hands covered in gardening gloves, she claps three times quickly, her hands almost not separating from each other.
Professor Nannieya: Welcome students again, in the Botany class. Today we will go through the theory of one spell and then move to the practical part of it.
She barely finished her sentence and everyone exclaims enthusiastically since we will be allowed to do our first big magic spells. Most of the classes are only theoretical. Botany was just learning different types of plants and flowers, where they come from or what to use them for and how to treat them. Teachers won't allow us to use magic yet, since we are only first years. Besides a few easy spells that are mostly for convenience around the school or for basic defense. Many of the students do have experiences with casting spells since they come from magical families and are taught from the age they first got their powers. You could say that they learned how to move objects first before they could walk and move themselves. But some of us are not that good, or we come from families that aren't magical. Those students got excited the most, me included because I wanted to see if I can finally use my powers on a bigger scale. The rest of the class that was from the prominent families only scoffed and smirked while leaning back in their seats. More precisely Ledon, with his left arm thrown over the seat, right leg fully stretched under the desk and his left one bent, resting his right arm on the table and flicking a pen between his fingers. He is trying to look like he owns this place. He pushes himself with the left leg, making the chair stand on its back legs to rock it back and forth. He drops the chair back on all four legs, slightly moving his body to the left, he moves his head to the side and supports it with his left arm which is now resting on a male student's shoulder. Saying something to Gan Fo while Mairi listens in, and then they laugh about whatever he said afterwards while his eyes shift to look at me, giving me a disgusting smirk. Professor Nannieya quietly bangs with her wand on the blackboard, making everyone pay attention to her once again. With her mouth slightly forming a straight line across her tiny face, she moves her head from left to right as she watches the class and then turns back to the board. She started to explain the theory behind the spell but she could hear the laugh and chatter from Ledon's group which interrupted her. The professor moves her wand around the board with written formulas and drawings of flowers on it. We went through the spell multiple times just in case someone missed a part for their notes and then repeated the casting movements to fully memorize them without any mistakes. After explaining the spell and trying the movements for it, we finally moved to the greenhouse. It was the first time we were in here and I didn't know it was even at the school grounds. The professor told us to pick our stuff and follow her out of the classroom. We even left the school building which felt amazing because I haven't done it much lately. Behind the school main building and many different small ones, we quickly arrived into this beautiful garden. In the middle of a low flower maze was a giant glass greenhouse. Professor Nannieya unlocked the door and stood right next to it while waiting for us to get inside. After everyone entered and we remained standing close to each other in a group, she got inside and showed us a small corner where we can leave our bags, books and cloaks. I put my stuff on a small wooden box while hanging my cloak on a hanger above it. Then she pointed us to a wardrobe that opened by itself after she waved her hand in the air, revealing a bunch of folded pale rubbery clothes. She told us to pick one each and wear it to protect our clothes. Changing our cloaks for pale rubber jackets that were falling almost down to my knees, we walk to this big table that's across the whole greenhouse where Professor Nannieya is already waiting for us. The table was the center of the greenhouse room while the sides were decorated with potted plants, watering cans and tools for gardening. Standing in front of a pot at the further head of the table, the professor asks us to walk around the table, pick one pot and put on the gloves and aprons set next to each pot. Professor Nannieya was preparing something on her spot, cleaning around while waiting for us to get ready. After everyone is done with dressing up, we wait for Professor to guide us.
