Beware, for everything is not always as it seems. You never know who to trust and what secrets they have hidden in plain sight. It could even be the closest of your friends or family...

"Brooke, you must run!" I heard a faint voice telling me.

I took in my surroundings and saw that I was standing in the middle of a glowing forest, with golden vines hanging from the trees. Everything was so beautiful, I thought. The trees had golden coins hanging from them instead of leaves and there were so many statues of beautiful gods and goddess.

"Brooke, you must run! She is coming for you!" I heard that same voice tell me again.

"Who's there!" I shouted.

"I am here and there, and everywhere. You know of me, Brooke." Said the voice. Ok, so it sounded masculine yet childish in a way. So I know it's defiantly a guy.

"What do you want from me?" I asked curiously.

"I am here with a message. Someone dangerous is out to get you. I cannot say who, but I must warn you that they are coming to get you."

"Why?" I ask.

"You have something they want. You are the key to their freedom. You must not let them out. Though don't fret, my dear, for we are watching out for you. We have sent someone to help you along the way though you won't know who they are."

"Why?" I repeated.

"For your safety and ours. Just remember, curiosity killed the cat, but hope brought it back. You are curiosity but are also the last slimmer of hope left in humanity."

Everything started mashing together as I heard a familiar voice telling me to wake up.

I suddenly jump up with my eyes still closed and screamed at the top of my lungs. When I finally stopped screaming, I saw that I was in my bed at home with Jack standing in front of me with a worried look etched onto his face.

"Brooke, look at me," He said. "We all need you to calm down." He said in a soothing voice. I looked behind him and saw the worried faces of my mom and dad.

I groaned and put my hand on my head to ease the pain. "How long was I out?" I asked.

"A few hours only. You really gave us quite a scare when we found you lying on the floor unconscious." Replied my mom as she placed a cold fabric on my head.

"Can you tell us what happened?" This time my dad spoke.

"I-I...I don't know myself. There were people all dressed in black. I tried to attack one so I can find out why they were here, but as soon as they saw me, they ran away. There were so many of them. And they were everywhere. Then, one of them hit me and I was knocked out." I explained to my parents.

"What are you talking about, Brooke?" Jack says, giving me a confused look. "I was upstairs in my room the whole time and I didn't hear or see any men in the house."

I notice my parents exchanging worried looks, acting as if they shared a secret.

"Then it's probably just a dream. I must've hit my head pretty hard." I said, but I knew it wasn't true.

"Alright, Brooke, here's some aspirin and water along with an ice pack. Your father and I have to go check up on some stuff. We'll be back soon." My mom says to me.

"Jackson, watch over Brooke and make sure everything is fine. You're responsible over Brooke, okay?" My dad says this time to Jack.

"Okay." Jack replies. "Don't worry."
