My heart started beating so fast as soon I heard my mother's voice trought the phone.

"Shit". Megan was as scared as me, but I couldn't stop thinking about the fact that that madman had my phone in his hand: with a simple click he would have been able to find the location of all my contacts and I couldn't forgive myself for that. The person in front of the door remained apparently still, then we heard footsteps moving away. When we were certain that the individual was no longer nearby us we began to speak:"Shit, now he knows what my mom's voice is like, what do I do?!""Idk, we need to find a way to get your phone back before smt bad happens"Suddenly someone knocked at the door. Megan and I immediately stopped talking and looked into each other's eyes; I saw a flash of pure fear in Megan's eyes and it was in that moment that I realized that we both didn't know what to doThey knocked a second timeSuddenly something shook me, and I thought that they should at least try to fight: I couldn't abandon everything I had been through like that.

No, my time hasn't come yet.

I quickly looked at Megan and said, "Megan we can't die now, we have to try at least." She observed me for a few moments then, although trembling, she did as I told her. We took a quick look at the classroom, then very quickly, we positioned the box containing all the music teacher's instruments between the recess of the door and that of the load-bearing wall, then we armed ourselves with pens and scissors. The assailant began to bang violently on the door, with the intent of breaking it down. Megan and I waited for the most opportune moment to then approach the lock and unlock the door: the box hit him directly and I took advantage of the opportunity to made him a cut with scissors at the height of the calf, so that we would have more time to escape . As I ran away I suddenly glimpsed two closed dark eyes intent on staring at me menacingly. At a rough estimate he could have been between 16-17 yrs, but the thing that surprised me most of all was when I injured his calf: the boy didn't make any groans of pain, he seemed silently intolerant of everything around him. He stared for a while at the dark red blood dripping from the open wound, then turned and gave me a disturbing smile that chilled the blood in my veins.

We passed the corridor and locked ourselves in the lecterature classroom, at that hour lit only by a ray of full moon coming through the window. The only audible noise was that of crickets; after calming down a little, we began to discuss in low voices to devise an escape plan

"Megan we're out of time, we have to find a way to get out of here or tomorrow we won't be able to see the light of day again."

"I know, that's what I was going to tell you"

Suddenly I made a consideration that I hadn't made before

"Look, but if my mother managed to call me first, it means that the internet was there then, right?"

"Yes but it lasted 2.5 seconds, how do you hope to have enough time to get out?" Megan paused, then stopped abruptly

...

"Livery I need you to go back to the staff room"
