We moved through what at the start of the match had been a city, now given how shall we say explosive our match had been the place was mostly a ruin. It was why we had it in a Tethered Space, so we could let lose like this. We quickly ran from building to building, making our way slowly across the battle feild, towards the enemy base. If he was smart, since there was only two of them now, they'd stay at their home base, since unless the player had summoned their Familiar before being eliminated, they weren't allowed to be summoned. As we moved through the streets the lights kicked on, as night fell, well as much as the arena allowed, we had a whole city to explore, and their base was on the other side, so they could be anywhere. My stomach growled, and I heard Yugu's do the same, so we took into an 'abandoned' grocery store, which in truth was just as stocked as any real world store, each arena type obviously different right down to the kind of survival skills required to find food and the like.
"Food?" I asked and Yuguchi nodded in agreement.
We moved into the store and begun looking for something we could eat that wouldn't require much effort, I found a loaf of bread and brought it to the front where I waited for Yuguchi. She soon emerged holding a can of something. and threw it to me. I quickly caught it.
"I thought you might like that." She said with a nod.
I looked at the can and shot her a dead stare. "I can't decide if you are trying to be funny or you are just racist."
"I... wait what I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you.... it's just my brother he loves the stuff..."
"It's fine, just know that just because we look like cats doesn't mean Nekomanius all love fish." I threw the can of tuna back at her. "I can't stand tuna."
"I'll eat it then, and really a loaf of bread?" She asked rolling her eyes.
"Food is food," I say shrugging and we stepped outside and looked down the street soon sitting down to eat.
As we sat down to eat the ground beneath us begun to rumble, I knew the feeling well from our match against Phoenix, the Right hand's Familiar was clearly an Earth-Dragon, if Cassi was with me, then maybe I could have taken it, but with Yuguchi, her sword skills were good but without being able to kill the thing, they were useless.
"Run!" I yelled out,
We begun heading down the street as it burst fourth from the ground, now chasing us along the street, I went to drag her left in the hopes that the things poor vision wouldn't see us go that way, but as I did the fucking Pegasus appeared, one of the few animals Native to the Death Realm, they were winged horses as you'd expect from the typical mythology, what the mythology didn't tell you however was the fact that each one of them had the strength of ten horses of the same size, so with ease the thing closed off the ally way, forcing us to resuming running along the road, suddenly I heard the crashing behind us, as the Earth-Dragon dived back under ground, I felt it rumble under us, and knew it would burst out in front of us.
"For fuck sake!" I growled as we rounded attempting to come back the way we had come, only to find it had left a thick layer of it's toxic gas.
-----------------------------
We had no choice but to dive down the alleyway on the opposite side of the road. We were running down it, feeling like we were rats in a maze, and it was starting to piss me off. As we ran, a blast of Pyromancy shot at us, We had no clue where from but it had come, we barely took it the Semi-Divine Level attack, even then we only survived because it had been thrown directly at me, as it was it shattered both my Protection-Spells in one hit, yes the blow back from the Spirit-Magic one would have done damage but not enough to make a difference. Yuguchi pulled me into one of the ruins using her speed, wincing as she landed hard on the ground, having to have shut off her Protection-Spell to grab me.
