~~* Sierra's POV *~~
Sierra held her breath as Luke completed his question. She blinked hard twice to make sure she was not hallucinating as Luke held her hands and looked at her expectantly. Sierra recalled what Luke had mentioned about Sierra when she had asked him why he wanted to go out with Sierra. He had made it very clear that he was interested in her. But Sierra found it overwhelming. She was a freshman, and Luke was the CEO of a company. How was this ever going to work? But does that even matter if they liked each other?
"Kitten, breathe."
"Hmm?"
"You have been holding your breath. Breathe."
Sierra deeply exhaled as she noticed Luke was right. He lifted her chin and met her eyes.
"You do not have to answer yet if you do not want to. Just know that I like you and want you to be mine."
The moment these words left Luke's lips, Sierra felt a warm sensation inside her. She realized that she had been feeling lost all this time. But now that she knew she was wanted, Sierra felt like she had found her home. Sierra had found a place where she would be safe and cherished. She maintained her eye contact with Luke. Sierra sighed and placed her head on his chest. Luke wrapped his arms around her almost instantly. The minty scent relaxed Sierra as she breathed it in. She held onto his shoulders from the back and felt Luke sway her lightly from side to side. December had begun, so almost two months were left until the internship ended. Sierra did not know how she would hide her feelings for Luke from Rebecca and the rest until then. But she sure as hell could not conceal them from Luke anymore. She lifted her head slightly and kissed Luke on the cheek. Pulling back, Sierra looked at him in the eyes as she spoke.
"Only if you promise to belong to me and me alone."
"Sierra, I have been yours since we first met. It took me a few arguments with you and myself to figure that out. But I did come to the right conclusion."
Sierra chuckled.
"Well, then. Since we are officially together."
Sierra stood on her toes and softly planted a kiss on his lips. Luke lifted his hands from her waist, cupped her cheeks as he welcomed the interaction, and moved his lips in sync with Sierra's. Sierra felt her stomach flutter, and she wrapped her arms around Luke's neck. Sierra felt Luke's hand slide down her waist as he pulled her closer. The sensation of warm hands against the leather dress made her lips part in surprise. Luke took this opportunity to nibble on her bottom lip very lightly and pull at it gently. As soon as he released her bottom lip, Sierra gave one last peck and parted. She breathed heavily and noticed that Luke was just as out of breath as she. Sierra rested her head on Luke's shoulder. Luke did not remove his hands from her waist as he waited for her to catch her breath. He turned his head and softly kissed her forehead. Sierra opened her eyes and peeked at Luke with one eye. Luke looked down at her and smiled. Sierra noticed his face was a light shade of pink. Sierra hesitated as she spoke.
"I have never kissed someone besides you."
"Really? I am lucky to have been blessed by your affection."
Sierra felt something drop in her stomach as she continued.
"I have been kissed, though."
"Kitten, you are old enough to have had romantic relations with someone. It does not matter what your past holds, as long as it is not ruining your present or future. I like you for who you are. I don't care if I am not your first kiss. I cherish you just as much. I have realized that life is too short to delve into the past."
Luke sighed and unwrapped his arms from her waist. Sierra pulled back and looked at Luke. His face looked serious, as his eyebrows furrowed and his lips pursed. Luke ran a hand through his hair as he tried to find the right words to convey his thoughts.
