I handed the paper back, "So are you guys doing anything for the talent show?" I turned to Skylar and asked.

Skylar looked at me and her eyes widened, "Well we were going to, and then Patrick left the school. Something about his mom getting a new job or something, but yeah we were totally going to perform with our band but he just had to leave."

I nodded, "What did Patrick do?"

"Oh he sang, and it sucks that he left too because he was really frickin good." Juliet said and turned to me.

Patrick seems like a really cool guy. And it sucks that he moved because I kind of want to meet him now, but he's gone.

"I've been told I can sing, maybe I can fill in for Patrick and we can do it it?" I said quietly.

All of the sudden Adam, Skylar, and Juliets eyes were fixed on me.

"That is the best idea ever." Skylar said getting excited.

"I guess you could say we are reuniting?" Adam said smiling. Which I've never seen before.

"Wait-" Juliet said. "We need a new ban name because Patrick made the other one."

Skylar sighed, "but that'll take forever."

I shot up, "I got it," the three looked at me. "How about Another Kickstart Affair?"

Skylar looked at the rest of the group and smiled, "I think we have our new name."

I blushed with excitement. It happens a lot. "Awesome, I love you guys."

"And we love you too. How about we hang out after school since the talent show is literally in two days?"

I sighed. If they told me when the date of the talent show, I wouldn't have done it. So i'm actually glad they made me sign up before they told me the date, "How about my house tonight? I have a music room, my dad will let us." I said looking at them.

"I am officially glad we let you be our friend, you're awesome dude." Juliet said and smiled, making me smile.

"Hey dad, these are my friends were going to into the music room. Okay bye." I said to my dad, he waved at me and laughed.

"Love you Alice, be careful in the garage." I laughed.

"I love you too Dad." I said and turned towards Adam, Juliet, and Skylar. "Okay, so the music room is basically the other side of the garage because the garage is big and we couldn't fit the guitar, drums, the bass, and the microphone system anywhere else."

I lead them to the garage door, and said, "And welcome to my favorite room of the house." I opened the door to reveal the warm garage. We walked down the wooden stairs and over to where the instruments are.

"So are you guys like rich or something?" Adam asked sitting down on the bean bag.

"No we aren't rich, we're not poor either." I said laughing a bit.

"Can I ask you a question?" Skylar said picking up the bass.

"Of course," I said smiling and walking over to the stand.

"Where's your mom?" She asked, quieter than her normal voice.

I turned around and looked down, biting my lip I said, "When I was littler my mom left us because she found out she had a son with a different man. So she left to take care of him, god knows where she is now. She could be hundreds miles away or one mile away, but I don't really care for her though. She wasn't really part of my life so I don't want to be part of hers."

Everyone was silent for a while, until Juliet said, "How about we play some music?" I laughed and nodded.

"Okay, so I have a song we can play. I wrote it when I was when I was like thirteen. When I went through my super awful scene phase. I call it Stressed Out." I said laughing at the fact that I just admitted that I went through that phase. I walked over to the boxes that we didn't unpack and I grabbed the top one and opened it to reveal a little book, which held all my songs. "There you go, it's the one on the third page." I said handing the book to Skylar. Adam and Juliet walked over to Skylar and read the song with her.

After a minute Skylar set the book down on the floor and said, "I'm speechless. I love it, what do you guys think?"

Adam sighed, "Dude, I love it. We need to learn this."

Juliet looked me, dead serious in the eyes, "Yes." was all she said.

"Dude that was awesome." My dad said from the stairs, walking down them he came in to meet my friends.

"Thanks dad, and these are my friends." I said turning to face my friends.

"Hey," They all said, all in different tones.

"That's Juliet," I said pointing to Juliet. "that's Skylar," I said pointing to Skylar, "and that's Adam."

"Well hello there kids, there's dinner on the counter for all of you. I figured you would be hungry from practicing all day."

"Dude, your dad is awesome." Adam said walking up to him and shaking his hand.

"Thank you," he said happily.

"So shall we go eat?" I asked, they all nodded and we walked into the kitchen.
