Jade's pov:

I had noticed that Perrie was a lot quieter in lessons today. I wonder what's up with her today? Maybe it's her period.

I stood up, straightening my skirt out as I walked over to Perrie. All of her mates were talking while she sat there looking down at her book, twiddling her pen between her fingers.

"Can I speak to you outside please?" I whispered to her. She huffed out and stormed out of the class. I followed her and closed the door. The corridor was clear so it was just me and her.

"Are you okay today Perrie? You're a lot quieter than normal. Normally you're very sassy and full of energy!" I spoke softly to her hoping I could sweet talk her into telling me.

"Miss I'm fine!" She snapped.

"You know you can talk to me if you need to talk with anyone!"

"Just drop it! I'm fine okay!" And with that, she strode back into the class; her blonde hair bouncing on her shoulders. I sat back down on my chair and looked down at my desk. I really wanted to help Perrie. I felt a different connection with her. I wanted to have her attention or be round her all the time.

"Miss the bell has gone, can we go?" Somebody asked making me lift my head with a smile.

"Yes sure. Have a good day!" Everyone rushed out of the room. I placed my head in my hands and breathed out. It's going to be a long year with a student like Perrie.

Lunchtime:

It was my turn to be on duty so I just had to walk around and check that everyone is being good. As I strolled round the yard, I saw smoke coming from the side of the building.

I looked round and saw Perrie sitting there muttering word to herself. She was alone and looked pretty upset.

"Smoking is against the school rules you know!" I took the cigarette from her lips and crumpled it under my shoe. She gasped and looked at me in annoyance.

"That was my last one!"

"Good. You shouldn't be smoking in school; certainly not weed either!" I smirked knowing that I have got her good now.

"How did you know that?"

"Perrie, my brother smoked it all the time. I know it when I smell it. Detention after school in my room!" I walked off feeling proud of myself.

-

I felt more and more nervous as I waited for Perrie in my room. It was 5 minutes after the bell had rang and she still hadnt turned up.

Just as I was about to leave, she burst through the door.

"Sorry I'm late!" She muttered, taking a seat in the middle of the room.

"You finally turned up! What took so long?"

"What's that to you!" Her arms folded across her chest.

"I'm a teacher, I need to know these things or ill put you on another after school detention!" I tested. She just ignored me and leant her head in her right palm. We sat in silence for a bit until I got a bit bored.

"So Perrie tell me a bit about yourself?" she lifted her head up slightly. She mumbled a bit about herself but I couldn't hear her properly.

"Come and sit infront of my desk. I can't hear you!" she moved to the front, her eyes locking with mine. That's when I got a clear view. She was broken. I could tell. She tries to act tough but inside she is a broken, innocent little girl.
