Your cottage had darkened and quieted by the going hours having gone past. It was already past midnight and the night was going at the small hours of the day. All eerie quiet and while there was no source of light outside, the clouds hid even the shine of the crescent moon. The strawhat crew was again sleeping in your living room, having fallen asleep on your armchairs. Well, Nami had found your soft bed behind a set of curtains hiding it and crawled to rest there. Noticing how little you had had use for it during the time they had stayed with you. Well again, you were even now snoozing off somewhere else like at your dinner table. Your head rested on a pillow that had been put under your head on the solid wood as a cushion.
Your peaceful sleep and soft breaths were cut short though when you woke up to the sound of a sudden crash coming from the hallway. Before you even had time to open your eyes, your body was quick to sit straight. Lazily you unglued your eyes open and with half-lidded eyes looked towards the doorway, trying to see from your spot what was the noise of the cause that seemed to come from the bathroom on the opposite side of the hallway from the kitchen. With the still buzzy mind of yours, you tried to focus your sight on the bathroom door that started to open, revealing someone's silhouette.
"Man, where is all the food," the silhouette spoke before stepping completely out of the bathroom to the hallway while scratching the back of his head. "'I'm so hungryy," the boy whined and looked around searching.
It took you a while to grasp the fact that this wasn't an already familiar voice for you or any one of the crew members. But their captain shouldn't be up yet either, should he now? The boy stepped inside the kitchen completely unaware of your presence and headed to your cupboards in search of food clearly. You raised your eyebrows a bit surprised by the audacity of this stranger. With one long movement of your index finger, you lightened up all the room's candles, making a puzzled noise leave the boy's mouth. You even turned the gas lantern in the middle of the dinner table on, so you had enough light to see this new individual well.
"Oh, I didn't notice you there?!" The boy, the captain himself, commented once he finally saw you. You fixed your hair a bit, feeling a bit self-conscious about how bluntly taken aback he was about seeing you. It couldn't be your hair now, could it really? "Did you do that, it was so cool?!" The childlike captain questioned pointing to the candles.
"Yeah?" You answered him with a questioning tone, implying to him to tell what that meant to him if you did do it. You crossed your arms and legs and leaned more back on the chair while inspecting the guy, still not believing him from anyone was really their captain. He was even less intimidating than his puny little crew, you bet they were sailing the seas with a meezy little boat too.
"So you are the witch?!" He grinned seemingly excited over the fact. You nodded unsurely, confused as to why he was so happy about the fact. "Wow, I was really looking forward to meeting you before something happened and I fell asleep."
"You didn't fall asleep. You fell in like a drug coma, mushroom one in this case," you corrected him, eyeing him boredly. "You put me and your crew through a lot of trouble to save you. Without me, you would have died."
"Oh thank you, huh, why was I dying?!" The captain asked, his mind hitting blank when he finally realized what you said. How much of an 'act first, think then' person he was.
"Because you went and ate some of my mushrooms that were poisonous," you explained to him, furrowing your eyebrows a bit while you stared at him with displeasement. "Don't you remember having lots of fun at one point and suddenly feeling very sick."
"Hmm, oh yeah, I did!" the raven-haired male recalled, his brain functioning on delay. "So that's what it was about, shishishi!" He then commented, laughing to the end. "So do you have any food here?" He questioned you, changing the topic completely and turning to examine your cupboards once again.
