"Aarohi."

"Aarohi."

"Aarohi."

"I'm coming, Badi Mumma," I shouted. I walked down the stairs and Badi Mumma approached me with her phone in her hand.

"Kya tum Abhimanyu ko pasand karti ho?" She asked.

(Do you like Abhimanyu?")

How does she know?

"Um, yes," I told her. My heartbeat went erratic. Was she gonna tell me off?

"Manjari Ji ka phone aaya tha. Uno ne tumhare aur Abhimanyu ke rishtey ki baat ki hai. So, it's a yes from your side na," she said with a teasing smile.

(Manjari had called. She talked about your and Abhimanyu's alliance for marriage.)

"Haan."

(Yes.)

Badi Mumma hugged me and said, "Akshara tumhare se badi hai. Maine socha ki uski shaadi phele hogi, agar tumhari shaadi ho rahe hai phele, toh haraz hi kya hai."

(Akshara is older than you. I thought she would get married first. But if you are getting married first, then there is no issue with it.)

"I hope usko aisa life partner miley jaise woh chaate hai," I murmured.

(I hope she gets such a life partner as she wants.)

"Aisa hi hoga." Badi Mumma said.

(I hope so.)

"NEET-PG  ki liye apply kiya?" She asked me.

"Not yet, Maa. I'm still doing some research."

"Acha. Maine fruits kaat liye hai. Aake khalo." She walked away to the living room.

(Okay. I have cut some fruit for you. Come and have them.)

I went to the kitchen and saw the fruits in the bowl on the kitchen counter. I grabbed the bowl and walked to the dining table. Taking my chair out, I sat and had the fruits. Everyone was out except for Badi Mumma. Since my internship is done now, I have to take the entrance exam to apply for postgraduate courses in medicine. I really hope Abhimanyu and his family won't have a problem with me doing my postgraduate studies after our marriage, if they agree then we all go ahead with this alliance.

Butterflies were still dancing in my tummy as I ate the fruit, this all felt like a dream. I really like Abhimanyu and I'm sure we are compatible with each other. I don't love him and I know that. Cuz, I don't even know him that much that I'd fall for him. But I'm sure my feelings will turn into love as we progress into our relationship.

After I had finished, I took my bowl to the kitchen and put it in the sink.

"Rishta? Aaru ki liyeBeta, tumhe koi parehsnai toh nahi hai na. Tum ready toh ho na. It's a really big commitment. You'll move into a new family and will have to adjust according to their household rules," Bade Papa said. His voice was calm.

(Alliance? For Aaru? My child, you don't have any problem with it. You're ready, right?)

I gave his questions some thought. I have to get married one day. If Abhimanyu and I both want to get married, I don't see any problem with it. We like each other. He's financially stable, and a really good person. I know I can't solely marry him because I'm having butterflies for him. But I can see a future with him. "I'm ready, Bade Papa."

"Acha beta, main unse baat karunga aur hum ek mulaqat ka din fix kar lenge. Main ache se jaanch partaal karna chahta hoon."

(Okay child, I'll talk to them and we'll fix a date to meet to discuss the alliance. I want to thoroughly assess them.)

"I have no problem."

If they agree to this alliance, I will as well. Woh mera bhala chahte hain.

"Aaru tu ready hai?" I heard a voice coming from my room.

(Aaru, are you ready?)

"Almost, baas kuch minute aur," I shouted. I quickly lathered body lotion over my legs and wore leggings and my saree blouse.

(A few more minutes.)

I hung my towel over the wall hook and padded out to Akshara. She helped me with draping the saree as well as my makeup. I looked at her, she looked a bit sad. I've noticed her not being herself since my family has talked about the alliance with the Birlas. Maybe she's sad that I'll move away from her,

Thirty minutes later, Akshara and I came down. She was dressed in a pink salwar kameez with delicate embroidery. She was looking gorgeous. I sat on the armchair while Akshara sat on the sofa.

"Beta, aapka plan kya hai. Humare Aarohi ko khush toh rakhoge na?"

(Child, what are your plans? You'll keep our Aaru happy?)

I know, I know. I haven't updated for over a month. I had my midterms and I focused on writing my other story which is a Kaira Fanfic.

I haven't gone through the grammar errors in this chapter. Point out if you find any.

Also, for the question poll I had posted. There was a tie between some of you wanting Akshara to have a crush on Abhimanyu and some of you didn't want to. At first, there was one vote more on Akshara liking Abhi, then it changed to a tie. After that I asked a reader to vote cuz, I didn't know if they had seen the question I had posted. Then again it was a tie and after another person voted. I finalized with the most voting to be. Akshara will like Abhi in this book. I didn't want to put myself in more dilemma so I unpublished the question.

Another thing I'd like to mention, if I will be delaying updates I'd mention that on my message board. You can follow me to keep you updated. But if you don't want to, that's also okay, you can just check my message board to see if I posted anything.
