Happy Bandi Chhor Divas! This time it was so confusing. Usually Diwali and Bandi Chor Diwas happen on the same day. (Its the same thing in my opinion) So I thought everybody will be celebrating it. Even in India. But I was so wrong. The Mandir's were full with Hindus celebrating Diwali. And their was no rush in Gurdwara's today.

This is a Diwali update technically.

"Akshu, are you okay?" I asked, turning my head towards her direction

"Akshu, are you okay?" I asked, turning my head towards her direction. Her head was resting on the steering  wheel.

She lifted her head and said, "Yes... Are you?" She had a cut on her forehead.

"Yes."

I heard a knock on the door. A lady around my age was their with a child in her arms—the same child we saved.

I rolled the window down.

"Are you two okay? Should I call the ambulance? Thank you so much for saving my child," The lady said.

"Yeah, we're good," I said. She placed her hand on her heart, feeling gratitude. The kiddo looked at me. I too looked at her, and pinched her little cheeks.  She giggled making me smile as well.

Her mother smiled and said, "Say bye to Uncle and Aunty." The kiddo smiled and waved her hands cutely.

Akshara pulls the car out from the tree and haystack and beelines towards the hospital. The drive was silent. We had nothing to say and it's hurting to know she doesn't trust me in this relationship. She pulled into the hospital building and parked the car. Before I went inside the hospital, I treated her wound with the first aid kit in the gloves box. She hissed as the antiseptic touched her skin. I had blown on her wound, trying to reduced the pain.

"Thank you for this, Abhi," she said.

I turned to her direction and gave her a small smile. "Thank you for the ride."

After the meeting with the patient was over, I stood up and stretched my limbs. Suddenly, my cell phone blared. I picked up the phone. It was Neil's call.  I swiped the button right, answering the call.

"Bhaiya. Maa's in the ER," Neil said, crying.

"What?"

"Please come to the 5th floor."

"I'm coming." I cut the call, and went to that floor.

Neil updates me on Maa's health. "She's critical. The doctor's not sure when she's gonna wake up."

"How did the accident happen?"

"Maa and I had come to the Mandir. Maa wanted to feed the cow, so she went to the hay stack to get some of it. I was waiting for her near the cows when she didn't come. I went there to see to lying on the ground, unconscious." Neil sobbed.
