Mystical Realm

Prologue

An old man walks up a flight of stairs to look out over the world. His bat-like wings folded neatly behind him. The book dangling from his hip seems to glint with power untold. Once he's on the top of the building, he looks out over the town and the woods surrounding the town. "Are we prepared for the battle ahead or will we fall? Mooncaster has seen a great battle and the world burning as the book vanishes" he shakes his head "What shall be shall be..."

Later inside a house

Mooncaster, a man with white hair, silver eyes, and the ears and tail of a wolf tosses and turns in his sleep. Images of blood splattering, people screaming, fear rising, and at the center of it all, of the storm of danger is a book. He tries to see the book, to find out what it is however the cover is too murky, uncertain of its design or the information inside of it. He reaches out for it desperate to stop the storm, but the storm gets even worse, and he screams as he wakes up. A boy with ears and tail of a fox staring at him in concern as he nibbles a biscuit.

"You alright Mooncaster? Another nightmare?" the boy asks.

"Kuro...how'd you get into my house?" he asks eyeing him.

"Trade secret" he smirks as he nibbles his biscuit.

Mooncaster sighs "It was just a nightmare...it couldn't have been a vision."

Kuro nibbles his biscuit some more before he adds "Isn't that what you always say when you have a scary vision? Either way I made breakfast" he points at the breakfast waiting out for him on the table.

"At least you make breakfast when you break in" he smiles a little as he gets up and eats.

"Are you going to tell me about your not a vision?" Kuro asks and Mooncaster sighs before explaining the nightmare to his friend and sometimes roommate.

"Wow......that does sound like an awful nightmare," Kuro says looking down at the cup of juice he'd poured himself "I'm sure it was just a nightmare. Come on! Today is an important day or did you forget the ceremony is today?"

Mooncaster smiles "How could anyone forget? Today is the day our lives officially start after all"

"Then stop moping around and get changed so we can see you become a full adult of the society," he says smirking before he disappears out the window. Mooncaster gets dressed and together they go to the ceremony site of the village of Ragnarok.
