Mystery man's final strike

The mystery man glares at Vlad as he leisurely walks toward him. "You dare to raise a hand against her? What an annoying little piece of shit you are. You don't deserve to live" he smiles as his strings start to slowly and painfully kill Vlad in such a way that he's left screaming out in pain until he dies.

"Y-You jusst killed him..." Tim whispers, frightened as mystery man bends over and picks up the abandoned book.

"The book was with us the whole time?" Mooncaster asks, shocked by that.

"It was inside Martha? Why the human?" Aussie asks.

"Maybe the old chief put it inside her?" Vern suggests "Eitherway give us back the book!"

"Sorry but I'm not handing this over. I need it and it belongs to me anyways"

"Lier! That book belongs to all who live here! It belongs to everyone and no one at the same time!" Mooncaster shouts growling.

They try to fight against him but he freezes time, only Martha is unaffected by time freezing.

"Guys!?" she asks looking around before glaring at mystery man.

"So you are the same as me...you really do have the same power as I do. Martha, join me! This world is too cruel toward people like us! I promise you that I'll protect you!" he says.

Martha stares at him before looking at her friends and looking back at him with determination in her eyes "Never! This world might be cruel and unkind but it's my home and the home of my friends! I'll never leave them because they'd never do that to me!" she uses her strings to break his control on the time, unfreezing everyone although it was just barely something she could do.

"Martha! Are you alright?" Mooncaster asks as the others glare at mystery man, getting in front of her to shield her from him.

"I-I'm fine" she answers standing up as her glowing red strings appeared and they all stared at mystery man who sighs.

"I see there is no chance of talking this out...fine then. I'll make you understand that you can't beat me!" he says, his glowing purple strings appearing and the fight begins.

After several hours of fighting, it was clear that mystery man had been toying with them, not even using his full strength. They all lay there, beaten and bruised but not dead or majorly hurt either as they can still struggle to their feet.

"Sorry but this has to happen" mystery man says as he raises his hand, the book starting to glow. Magic swirls into a huge ball that if it hits them, they're as good as dead.

Malada stares at the ball of magic and realizes what she has to do as she quickly gets up, Aussie standing up as well.

As the mystery man throws the ball of magic at them, Malada throws out her hands, trying to control the magic like she can with all other magic. Aussie, understanding what she is trying to do, quickly gets in the way of Malada, taking the full brunt of the magical ball of death, screaming out in pain as his body is torn apart.

Malada manages to control the magic, sending all of it directly into Martha as she shouts, tears in her eyes "GO!" Martha, overwhelmed by the sudden surge of magic inside of herself, teleports herself and the others to a new place, outside their world.
