Lauren's POV.

I'm woken up to the sound of a female scream the next morning. Could it be Alesa? I wonder as I get out of bed to investigate. Sure enough as I walk down the stairs I see Adam hugging her from behind. When Adam sees me he releases Alesa. "Oh sorry did we wake you?" He asks. "You did but it's fine." I say as I stretch and let out a big yawn. Alesa looks at me and smiles. "You must be Lauren. I'm Alesa." Adam chuckles. "Honey, she's a fan, I'm sure she knows you." He informs her. Her cheeks turn light pink. Adam didn't seem to notice, I almost didn't notice. "Oh right, I'm still getting used to fans knowing me." She replied. "It's completely fine I totally understand. I'm sure I'll be the same way." I tell her. Her cheeks return to their normal color as she sighed a sigh of relief. "So, how about you go get dressed, we'll have a little breakfast and then we'll go shopping for your room and maybe even clothes shopping." She said. "Ok, sure." I reply. I make my way up the stairs and back to my plain room. I find an outfit and start to get dressed.

~Timeskip to When They arrive at the store~

Me and Alesa walk into Ikea and start making our way to the bedroom area. "So if you don't mind me asking," Alesa started as we started browsing the bedroom furniture. "How did you end up in the orphanage?" I plop down on a comfy looking mattress to test it out. I sigh. "Do you really want to know?" I ask half because I don't want to talk about it and half because it just sucks how it happened and I don't know how she'll react to it. She nods. "If you don't want to tell me you don't have to." She assures me. I let out another sigh. "I'll tell you at lunch. For now let's just focus on shopping and having a little fun." I reply and lay down on the mattress. "Oh wow, this is comfy." I say. She comes and lays down next to me on the mattress. "Oh wow you're right this bed is amazing. I definitely think we can check mattress off the list." She informs me. I laugh and she does too.

~Timeskip to Lunch~ (A/N: Sorry if you wanted me to write about them shopping I just thought it would be boring)

After spending a few hours searching for stuff to go in my room, we got hungry and decided to go to Olive Garden for lunch. Once we were settled at a table and had ordered we started talking again. "So, you said that you would tell me what happened at lunch and we're at lunch," She paused for a moment before continuing. "So if you're comfortable telling the story, I kind of want to know." I took a deep breath and started slowly. "Last Christmas Eve we were going to my aunt and uncles house for Christmas. Before we got there some guy hit our car on the driver's side. When the paramedics got there my dad, who was driving was DOA, my mom was unconscious and barely living, and I was in and out of consciousness. My mom and I were taken to the nearest hospital. She died during surgery meanwhile I was fine. I had no life threatening injuries just a concussion, a few stitches here and there, and a broken arm. I found out later that the guy who hit us was...was..." I can't get the words out because those words have angered and saddened me since I heard them. Alesa rubs my arm comfortingly and I manage the strength to continue. "He was drunk at the time of the crash." I squeak out.

She gives me a sympathetic expression. I nod as if to acknowledge it. I take a deep breath and continue. "My dad was an only child and his parents were in a nursing home so I couldn't go with them and my mom's family hated my dad so none of them wanted anything to do with me. Well except for my mom's twin sister but she has 5 kids and I would've felt guilty if I would've gone with her. I didn't want her to deal with the stress of having yet another kid to take care of, another mouth to feed. She's amazing and I can't imagine how stressful it would have been for her and her husband. I have stayed in touch with her though and we still see each other. So that's how I ended up at the orphanage. " As if almost on cue the waitress came with our food as soon as I finished. We thanked her and she left.

Alesa sat there in silence trying to find something to say. "I'm so sorry Lauren." She finally said. I nodded and wiped away the tears that had formed. "If that's ok with you, I would like it if I could be the one tell Adam." She nodded understandingly. "I have one question, were you an only child?" She asked as she took a bite of a breadstick. I thought about it for a moment, did I really want to bring that up? "Yes." I lied. "Ok I mean I figured since you didn't mention any siblings but I figured I'd ask." She said buying my lie. She smiled at me and I forced myself to smiled back. She started eating and I was going to also but instead I just stared at my pasta wondering. How long am I going to be able to keep that a secret?

A/N:

Sorry that was kind of short I just thought that with her long explanation and that cliffhanger moment (at least in my opinion) that it was a good stopping point.
