The next morning arrives, and you find yourself reluctant to leave the comfort of your cozy bed. The sun gently streams in through the curtains, casting a warm glow in the room. As a gentle breeze wafts through the open window, the curtains dance and flutter, creating a serene atmosphere.
You contemplate returning to the hospital, a mix of emotions churning in your gut. A voice in the back of your head urges you to stay away, reminding you that you aren't getting paid as a volunteer. Yet, the desire to help others outweighs any financial gain. You can't bear the guilt of abandoning your commitment. Besides, you're not one to back out so easily. It had only been one day, but you're determined to see your volunteering work through to the end.
With a determined effort, you manage to peel yourself out of the cozy embrace of your bed. Gathering your energy, you begin preparing yourself for the day ahead.
The journey is a breeze this time, with no traffic to slow you down. It's a relief knowing you won't be late and the receptionist, Bora, won't get angry at you this time.
Stepping through the automatic doors of the hospital, you hurriedly make your way towards the reception desk. Bora, who already seems irritated and annoyed, greets you with a hint of frustration. "Oh, it's you again. What do you need?"
"Uhm, do you have the list of things I need to do today?" you ask.
With an exasperated eye-roll, the receptionist swiftly types on her computer before swiveling her chair towards a nearby printer. She presses a button, and a single sheet of paper emerges, which she hands to you. "Here," she starts. "Don't lose this; you'll need it tomorrow as well."
As you glance at the sheet of paper, you realize it's a familiar sight, almost identical to yesterday's tasks. Some things aren't on the list though, like how you'll need to assist Jungkook in acquiring new painting equipment and spend some quality time talking with Namjoon, along with attending to the needs of the other patients.
With a muttered expression of gratitude, you softly utter a quick "thank you" before carefully examining the first task on the list. It's something different this time. You'll need to assist Dr. Han. Unconsciously, a sigh of relief escapes your lips as you're grateful for not having to face the patients just yet.
You walk down the hallway, exchanging a warm smile with a fellow worker who passes by. Arriving at your destination, you stand in front of the door and give it three gentle knocks, a familiar ritual. With a sense of anticipation, you turn the knob and enter the room.
Inside, Dr. Han sits at his desk, engrossed in typing on his computer. The soft glow of the screen illuminates his face. However, as you enter, a soft smile forms on his lips, and he gestures for you to come closer. The warmth in his expression makes you feel welcome and appreciated.
"Y/N, right? I remember seeing you here yesterday," the doctor says, his smile never fading. You nod, feeling a sense of recognition.
"I'm gonna need you to personally select each prescription for the patient," he begins, handing you a small sheet of paper. On it are the names of the seven boys you dealt with before, along with the corresponding pills you need to find.
"I trust you to handle this task with care, Y/N. It's a straightforward process. The names of the pills are clearly labeled on the bottles," he explains, gesturing towards the shelves filled with a wide array of medications on the other side of the room.
You feel a mix of responsibility and determination as you look at the paper. You're ready to take on the challenge and ensure that everything goes smoothly for the patients under your care.
