CHAPTER 8

*Timeskip: After the incident*

*Zera's POV*

Waking up on a hospital bed, I was met with my Dad sitting on a chair beside my bed.

"You're finally awake," he said.

"How long was I out?" I asked him and sat up.

"Just a few hours." I hummed. I was still somewhat shaken by what happened. Looking at my father, I was surprised that he stayed quiet and was looking down.

"Is there something wrong?" I asked.

"I'm sorry" I heard him.

"I'm sorry that I was late saving you" he continued and then I heard sniffles from him.

"I thought I would lose you" He cried and held my hand. Seeing this, made me tear up as well. Never in my life have I seen someone cry because they're worried for me. I hugged Toshinori and cried with him.

"I'm sorry," I said.

After our little crying session, Dad gave me food afterward knowing I was already hungry.

"Young Todoroki visited. That ash-blonde kid as well and Midoriya too" Dad told me.

"Come on, they should've at least waited for me to wake up" I commented

"What ya mean 'waited for you to wake up'?? They have to rest too you know,"

I just hummed and continued eating my food. The food Dad gave me was curry and it was good.

"Zera" Dad called

"Hm?"

"Y-you remembered how my p-powers works right?"

"Yes?" I raised my eyebrow.

"And you remembered how I can pass it to another p-person, yes?"

"Mhm...What ya wanna say?" I asked, feeling disturbed that Dad kept stalling and wouldn't get to the point.

"I somewhat decided to give One for All to your classmate, to Young Midoriya," he finally said it.

'Giving One for All to Midoriya?' I thought. I know that Midoriya is quirkless and wants to be a hero. But...what makes Dad want to give One for All to him?

"I'm not against it if you pass to answer this question," I said and side-eyed glanced at him.

"Why do you want to give Midoriya One for All? What makes you want to choose him?" I asked. It's not like I don't want Midoriya to have the quirk. I, for one, think that Midoriya is worthy of the quirk too. But I want the reason.

"Because...he saved you. He saves people who are in danger. 'My body moved on its own' he said"

'I see...he's hero material' I smiled.

"He saves people. He doesn't care if his life would be in danger or not" I sighed.

"I agree with giving Midoriya One for All. I think it's in good hands" I smiled at Dad.

"Y-You're n-not a-angry..?"

"Nope," I said and continued eating.

"Now go home and sleep. You still need to train him tomorrow."

"How did you know I need to train him?!?"

"It's quite obvious, is it not?"

Dad chuckled. We bid farewell and he then left. I glanced outside the window and noticed that it was a quiet night. The night's peaceful but, I feel lonely.
