, I stood in the middle of my office, staring at Scarlet, my once-trusted employee, as the weight of her actions settled in. My fists clenched at my sides as she fumbled for words, her voice trembling with guilt.
"Scarlet, do you even realize the magnitude of the blunder you and your team have made?" I demanded, my voice cold, my gaze piercing.
"Yes, ma'am, I know," she said, her voice barely audible. "But their company's employees used to mock us every chance they got, and... and it got on my nerves."
My eyes darkened as I took a step closer, my heels clicking sharply against the tiled floor. Scarlet flinched, the fear in her eyes unmistakable.
"Mocking us doesn't give you the right to stoop so low!" I shouted, my voice reverberating through the room. "You hacked into the Vansh Group's system—a move that not only jeopardizes this company's reputation but also puts me directly in the line of fire! Do you have any idea who you've messed with? Vansh Singhania isn't just anyone—he's ruthless. And now, because of your childish games, I have to clean up the mess you made!"
Scarlet's eyes welled up with tears, but I didn't care. This wasn't just about her; it was about the values I had built my empire upon.
"We don't work by cheating or hacking. That's not who we are, Scarlet," I said, my voice quieter but no less firm. "I didn't build this company for you to tarnish its name and its values. I'm disappointed in you, and I won't give you a second chance. You're fired. Collect your last paycheck and leave immediately."
Scarlet sobbed silently as she walked out, not daring to argue. I watched her go, a heavy weight settling in my chest. Trusting her had been a mistake, especially knowing her history of working with RH—my rival and Vansh's. I should have known better.
As the chaos of the day faded, one thought took over my mind: my little sister, Aakriti. I hadn't seen her in days, and the guilt gnawed at me. Family was my only solace, my anchor in this whirlwind of ambition and rivalry.
Just as I was leaving the office, my phone buzzed. It was Aakriti. I smiled as I answered, but her panicked voice wiped the smile off my face instantly.
"Di, please come home fast!" she cried, her voice trembling.
"Kriti, what's wrong? Tell me!" I urged, my heart pounding.
"She... she'll kill me!" Aakriti whispered, her voice breaking.
"I'm coming. Don't worry, baby. No one will hurt you," I said, cutting the call and speeding toward home. My blood boiled as my mind raced. Did our aunt hurt her again? That woman was a nightmare, always finding ways to make our lives miserable.
I stormed into the house, my eyes immediately falling on our aunt lounging on the couch like she owned the place. My anger bubbled over, and I marched toward her.
"What did you do now?" I demanded, my voice like thunder. "Why was Aakriti crying?"
She looked at me with feigned innocence and said, "I just told her to tell you to give me half of your company's shares. She refused and talked back to me. So, I raised my voice a little. Kids need discipline sometimes, you know."
The audacity of this woman! My hands itched to slap that smug look off her face. "You shouted at her? You think you can insult or hurt my sister and get away with it? Who do you think you are? And why would I give you half my company's shares? You've done nothing for us—nothing!"
Her expression shifted to fear, but she quickly masked it with defiance. "If you don't give me the shares, I'll make your life a living hell," she hissed. "And that little sister of yours? She'll suffer because of you."
"Stop it right there!" Aakriti's voice rang out, sharp and unwavering. She stepped into the room, her small frame radiating courage.
"You want to make our lives hell? Try it," she said, her voice steady and strong. "Di will bury you alive if you mess with us."
I stared at her, pride swelling in my chest despite the chaos. That's my girl.
Aakriti handed me a suitcase and grabbed my hand. "We're leaving," she said simply.
We drove in silence for a while, the tension slowly dissipating. I glanced at her and saw the fear lingering in her eyes despite her brave front earlier.
"Kriti, are you okay?" I asked gently. "You were so bold back there, but now you look scared."
She glanced at me and burst into laughter. "I wasn't that bold, Di. Stop exaggerating!"
Her laughter was contagious, and soon, we were both giggling, the heavy weight in the air lifting just a little.
We booked a hotel for the night, deciding to stay there until we found a new place to call home. As we settled in, I looked at my sister and promised myself that no one
absolutely no one would ever hurt her again.

You know I want you
It's not a secret I try to hide
You know you want me
So don't keep saying our hands are tied
You claim it's not in the cards
And fate is pulling you miles away
And out of a reach from me
But you're hearing my heart
So who can stop me if I decide it's on my destiny? What if we rewrite the stars?
Say you were made to be mine
Nothing could keep us apart
You'll be the one I was meant to find
It's up to you, and it's up to me
No one could say what we get to be
So why don't we rewrite the stars?
And maybe the world could be ours, tonighthope you guys liked it
