I woke up late to find Aakriti already awake and dressed for school. She came over to me, her face glowing with excitement.
"Di, you know my school is organizing a field trip, and I was thinking maybe I could go—"
"No," I interrupted her, my voice firm. I didn't need to hear more.
"Di, please! Everyone is going. Just this once!" she pleaded, her eyes wide with hope.
"I said no, Kriti. Now go to school and don't forget to eat your lunch," I replied, brushing off her request.
She stood by the door, looking furious. Her arms crossed, she refused to move.
"Kriti, please don't be so stubborn. Go to school. We'll talk when you're back, okay?" I softened my tone, hoping it would help.
But she wasn't budging. "I'm not going until you say yes to the field trip!"
"kriti please bacha go to school ill talk to you when we get back home and go safely i love you"i said with a pleading look
"fine di bye love you"she said and left for school
I sighed, about to say something, when I noticed him. Vansh Singhania. What was he doing here? Was he here to take revenge? No, that didn't seem like him.
Before I could figure it out, he smirked and said, "I have a suggestion for you, Ashrita."
His mocking tone grated on my nerves. "What do you want, mr singhania?" I snapped, already irritated.
He stepped closer, his smirk growing wider. "I think you should go to school instead of your sister. Maybe you'll learn some manners and understand that hacking isn't the right way to do business."
His words stung, but I kept my composure. "Mr. Singhania, I'm truly sorry for what happened. I didn't intend to cause trouble for you or your team, and I sincerely apologize," I said sweetly, hoping to solve the situation.
But of course, Vansh wasn't one to let things go so easily.
"Apology accepted," he said, leaning in slightly, "but you caused me a lot of trouble. So, you'll need to pay for it."
"What do you mean?" I asked warily.
"For one week, you'll have to do whatever I say. Not now, but whenever I decide."
"What?! No way, Vansh! That's ridiculous!"
"Then you're not really sorry, are you?" he taunted, his eyes glinting with mischief.
I groaned in frustration. "Fine! But don't think I'm scared of you. I'm doing this because I genuinely feel bad for what happened."
"Great!" he said, his grin almost childlike. "This is going to be fun." he said
Just as I was calming down, RH's obnoxious owner walked into the hotel. His smug face made my blood boil. He sauntered over to Vansh and me, his thick Russian accent as annoying as ever The man scoffed, but I wasn't done. i gave him a very savage reply which made His face turn red, and he stormed off. The second he was out of sight, Vansh, Varun, and I burst into laughter. For the first time,
I saw Vansh laugh genuinely. It was... nice.
I like this vansh
A-(oho oho love in the air hehe)
Hours later, while working at the office, I got a call from Aakriti. The moment I picked up, I heard her yelling.
"Di! Did you really expect me to do all the shifting alone? I've been guiding the movers all day without even drinking water. This is so frustrating! And you canceled my trip!"
"Aye, Kriti! Calm down, okay? I'm leaving the office now. I'll handle everything when I get there. And about your trip—we'll talk later. Love you!"
I grabbed my things and rushed out. When the princess calls, I have no choice but to go.
As I pulled up to the house, I saw Vansh parking his car next to mine. My jaw dropped. No way. He lives here?
My bad luck couldn't get any worse. I couldn't even think about moving; this was the only house close to my office.
I took a deep breath and tried to compose myself. Kriti was standing outside, glaring at me.
"Hey, Kriti, what's wrong now?" I asked cautiously.
"I hate you. Our neighbors are nicer than you!" she shot back.
"What? Did you meet them already?"
"Yes, they're sweet old people. Much better than you," she said with a huff.
Relief washed over me. At least she hadn't met Vansh. "Did you finish the shifting?"
She didn't even bother replying and just walked away. The audacity this cat has!
Later that evening, exhausted from the day, I was about to collapse when the doorbell rang. I dragged myself downstairs, wondering who it could be.
Standing at the door was an elderly woman holding a tray of food. Before she could even speak, I ran to her, my stomach growling loudly.
"Come in, please!" I said eagerly. Kriti rushed to hug her and introduced her as the kind neighbor who had helped with the shifting.
She served us food and chatted with us about her grandson, saying he was hardworking, kind, and the pride of their family. I found myself wondering who this lucky boy was.
Then, there was another knock at the door. Assuming it was a delivery person, I opened it without thinking.
It wasn't.
There he was—
