SCARLETT
"SCARLETT!!! WHERE ARE YOU!? COME OUT HERE YOU LITTLE BITCH!!!" My father screamed as he drunkenly stomped around the house, looking for me.
He would never find me. I was hidden behind the secret door behind the laundry machines. Zayn had found it a year ago before his sudden growth spurt. I was the only one who could fit inside now as I was small for my age. Ten years old and here I was, cramped up inside, waiting for my father to pass out. He was drunk and whenever he got drunk, his goal was to have his way with me because my mother stopped loving him. She loved drugs more than him. She also loved her friends more than her own family because she was always out getting high on some sort of drug, instead of home with us. That's where she was now, leaving me alone with the monster. Zayn was also gone as he was out doing his own thing.
"SCARLETT!" My father screamed again. This time he was closer. He was in the hallway.
Tears made their way down my cheeks. My body shook out of pure fear as the house suddenly got dead quiet. Taking this as he must have passed out somewhere, I slowly got out of the hiding spot, slowly making my way down the hall and into my bedroom. Everything was as I left it, so I figured my father really had passed out somewhere. Sometimes he would wait on my bed for me to come out of hiding but it seemed as if he wasn't this time. So I let out a sigh of relief. I was seconds away from crawling into bed when my door suddenly slammed shut. When I turned around, my father was smirking mischievously as he started undoing his pants, making his way over to me....
Sitting up in an instant, panic consumed me as I searched the room out of pure panic and fear. Grasping my chest, my heart felt as if it was beating out of my chest. The panic only lasted a minute before I was able to grasp the fact that my father wasn't here. It wasn't any better knowing where I actually was but anything was better than being in the possession of my father.
Taking a final glance around the room, I noticed a closed door with lights on. Someone was moving around inside. Before I could contemplate what to do, the door opened, revealing Xavier. All I could think was he must have taken advantage of me like my father had because his waist was wrapped in a towel. I couldn't help but observe his damp body with the little light I was given. He had the muscle every girl wanted but he didn't have the attitude. He had easily visible six pack abs and the muscles on his arms were full of popped out veins. His legs were the same. This was a man who spent his life working out every single day without ceasing. He was nothing but a purebred fighter. He wasn't my type but any girl would call me crazy for not following a man like that as if I were a dog wanting to obey its master.
"Like what you see?" It didn't surprise me that Xavier had caught me staring at him.
"Where the fuck are my clothes?!" I demanded to know. I was no longer in my own clothes, but in one of Xavier's shirts that was far too big for me.
Xavier crossed his arms, leaning against the bathroom door frame. "The famous Scarlett is more concerned about her clothes than what she's doing in my bed? Interesting." He raised a brow, smirking.
"I'm not playing games, Xavier."
"You think I am?" He walked over to my side of the bed, turning on the lamp. It was bright so it took a minute for my eyes to adjust. Uneasiness filled my body as I shifted uncomfortably in the bed. Xavier easily noticed it. "Work for me, Scarlett." Xavier started as he moved onto the bed.
His sudden demand caught me off guard. Looking away from him, I refused to move as his hand made its way to my leg as he leaned into me. He started to brush his lips against my neck as his hand moved up from my leg and onto my thigh. He trailed kisses to my chest, causing shivers to run up my spine. I couldn't move. My body seemed involuntarily frozen in place as I stayed where I was, trying to process what was happening. That static feeling at his touch paralyzing my mind and body.
"Be mine, Scar. I don't want to hurt you. I have no desire to constantly beat you into obedience. Into submission."
"Then what do you want, Xavier?"
"I told you. Be mine and I'll tell you everything you want to know. Including why finding your brother is so important to us all. Isn't that what you want?" He asked as he continuously kissed my neck.
Finally gaining my moral standards back, I pushed Xavier away from me. "Get the fuck off me! I am not helping you find my brother. No matter how many times you ask, the answer will always be no."
He rolled his eyes as he stood. "I don't take no for an answer. You should know that by now. Or perhaps you need another lesson?"
"Like I could feel any worse." I responded with as much sarcasm as possible.
"I suppose you're not wrong. You have three days to decide whose side you're on, Scarlett. I'll let you go back to your boring life. I'll even lend you one of my cars since yours is on the last of your days."
"You expect me to believe that you'll let me go? I won't fall for your tricks."
He smirked, flicking on the bedroom light. He dropped the towel around his waist, revealing more than I wanted to see. A single second was all it took for me to turn my head to the side. My cheeks heated with the warmth of embarrassment as Xavier chuckled at my reaction. I could hear him rummaging through drawers. I refused to look up, waiting for him to put clothes on.
"Afraid you'll like it?" He mocked as he messed with what sounded like a belt buckle. That was more than enough to tell me it was safe to look so I looked him dead in the eyes. He was still shirtless but he quickly put on a black T-shirt. "Think of it as offering a way to prove yourself. You can run and hide but what good will that do? It'll only prove you're a coward just like your brother. Or you can go out for three days and live a normal life like you were and then in three days, you'll come back and work with me full-time."
"For you, you mean."
"Well, that depends on the choice you make. So, what's it going to be?"* * * *
The second I came to, everything hit me like a ton of bricks. Xavier had drugged me the second I made the choice to wait three days. I recognized my small apartment almost immediately. It was trashed as if someone had rummaged through it. I had no doubt that it was Xavier and his followers. It didn't take much thinking to know that they had done it in hopes to find something that told me where my brother was.
Slowly getting off of the couch, I immediately noticed the note on the coffee table. On the bottom right corner were a pair of keys that didn't belong to me. A knife was piercing the paper and into the fine oak wood. It would have bothered me more had I not seen the gang stamp Xavier uses, on the top right side of the paper. No gang ever used their stamps unless the letter was a serious threat and I had a feeling it was one. The handwriting was printed in big bold letters as if to make the point across. Here are the keys to my Ferrari F8 Tributo. If there is so much as a scratch upon return, you will be a dead man. You have three days to decide your fate. I'll have eyes on you at all times so don't bother trying to run. If you do try, note there is an irremovable tracker in the Ferrari and your sad of an excuse vehicle. If you find another way to run, we will find you. And I will kill you.
-Xavier
It didn't surprise me nor scare me to have him threaten my life like this. A letter seemed less threatening but the fact he said he would be watching me, was a little more unsettling. Some part of me wanted to run and hide while another part of me wanted to find my brother. I needed to find him and get the truth of why he left and what happened to his relationship with Darren. I needed the truth and I was determined to get it. The only problem that I had to watch out for, was making sure Xavier didn't follow me. He wanted to find him just as much as I did. so taking either car was not an option. So without another thought, I slipped on some jeans that had been thrown on the floor, leaving the apartment complex.
