SCARLETT

I was exhausted the next morning. There were bags under my eyes as I dragged myself into the bathroom. I was a mess. My curls were all fizzy and my makeup was smeared all around my eyes. I hadn't had time to clean up last night since the second we got home, Xavier had brought me to his room. What happened after, left me sore in places I didn't think could get sore.
Turning the shower on, I started to take off my makeup at the sink while I waited for the water to warm up. As I finished washing my face, the door opened and Xavier walked in. He was smirking, observing the hickeys around my neck and chest. He walked over, wrapping his arms around me, kissing my neck.
        "You're so beautiful, Scar."
"Hmm." Was all I could say, not really sure how to respond.
He chuckled, kissing my neck one more time before backing away, dropping his boxers to the floor. Stepping into the shower, Xavier followed after me. I had no time to wash myself before he was pinning me to the shower wall, kissing my neck. Wrapping my arm around his neck, he started to move his hands up and down my body as he continued to kiss my neck. Lifting me up, he positioned himself before thrusting into me. He kept me pinned to the cold wall as he did so, kissing my neck.
As he finished, he pushed my legs down, forcing me to stand. Giving me a soft kiss on the lips, he moved one hand against the wall while the other grabbed my chin as he leaned in to kiss me one more. Kissing back, he moved his hand from my chin to waist, grabbing my ass. His tongue pushed at my lips, trying to gain access to my mouth. Parting my lips, his tongue got the full feel inside my mouth, dancing with my own tongue before he pulled back.
"Damn, you taste so good, Scar." He whispered, still breathing heavily.
"So I've been told." I replied, moving to my knees. I owed him that favor.
By the expression on his face, I knew he knew what I was about to do. But before I could, he grabbed my chin, forcing me to look up at him. "Not just yet, Scar." He grabbed my arm, helping me stand before leaning into my ear. "Save that for later." Without another word, he left the shower, wrapping around his waist before leaving the bathroom.
By the time I finished washing up, the water was cold. Getting dressed into a black tank top with styled rips on the side and black leather jeans. Having the time, I dried my hair, brushing out my curls. It took a while since I hadn't brushed out my curls in a long time. Once my hair was straight, I started straightening it with the straightener. Having my hair completely straight, it reached to the middle of my back.
"You're so pretty!" A small voice squealed from the doorway, causing me to jump. Mindy started giggling. "I scared you!"
"You did indeed. I'm not so easily scared so you should be proud of yourself." I gave her a small smile.
She squealed again, jumping up and down in excitement before rushing downstairs without another word. I couldn't help but chuckle, shaking my head. She was quite the character. One that reminded me of what I didn't have. A place where people loved and cared about you.
Heading downstairs, Mindy was already playing with blocks on the living room floor. Xavier was on a cellphone, yelling at someone. His yelling didn't seem to bother Mindy but it was only as I walked over, that I noticed headphones in her ears and an Ipod playing music on the floor. The music was some children's music I didn't recognize but I could hear it through her headphones. I knew she couldn't hear me behind her since she kept playing with her blocks.
Xavier suddenly grabbed my arm, pulling me away from Mindy and into the kitchen. He had a serious look on his face as he glanced at Mindy before turning to me. He sighed, hanging up the phone.
"I have to head out on an errand. Keep an eye on Mindy. I'll be back as soon as I can. There's a burner phone with one number on it. Only use it if you have to."
        "What's going on?"
"Just do as you're told!" He snapped.
He left the cabin without another word, leaving me standing confused and slightly hurt. I wanted to know what he was doing and if it had anything to do with my father, Zayn or I. The chances were that it was and Xavier just wanted to keep me out of it. As infuriating as it was, it would keep Mindy safe too.
Hearing the car pull out, I sat down next to Mindy, pulling one of her earpieces out. "May I join you?" I asked.
She nodded. "Mhmm. I'm building the Eiffel Tower!"
"Is that so? Well let me help." I started to help her build her tower and higher. "So, Mindy. Do you know what happened before Xavier left?"
"No. I'm not allowed to know. He just tells me to put music on and I listen."
"I see." Glancing up at the television, I sighed. It was going to be that kind of day. "How would you like to watch a show?"
She sat up, looking at me with excited eyes. "Really?! Can I pick?!"
        I nodded. "Of course."

The show she had picked was at least decent to watch. I had lost count of the ICarly episodes we had watched as time went on. By around two in the afternoon, Mindy began to complain about being hungry. The thought of foo, making my own stomach growl since I hadn't eaten anything this morning.
After making each of us a couple of grilled cheese sandwiches, we were seated at the table, eating peacefully. It was odd watching Mindy use ketchup for her grilled cheese. Watching from the other side of the table, she was scarfing it down like soup. Watching it almost made me gag but I held it back, finishing my own sandwiches. Once we were both finished eating, Mindy went back to her blocks and I decided to clean up the whole downstairs.
By the time the main floor was spotless, It was pitch black outside. Xavier still wasn't back yet. Walking Mindy back to her room, I tucked her into bed. Within  seconds she had her eyes closed, falling asleep. As I left the cellar, I closed it as quietly as I could, hoping not to disturb her. There was no knowing if I would while the cellar was closed anyways.
Heading back inside the cabin, a car pulled into the driveway. Out of instinct I rushed into the cabin, closing the door behind me. As the vehicle pulled up, the porch lights revealed an unrecognizable white truck with four figures inside. The second they got out of the truck, panic consumed me. They had guns and I had a feeling they were about to use them as they walked up towards the house.
Refusing to peek through the blinds anymore, I locked the door. Not wanting to be spotted inside the house, I crawled across the floor to where the disposable phone was, quickly dialing the only phone number written on the piece of paper beside it. As it rang, I could hear the men coming up onto the porch.
"Scar? What's going on?" It was Zayn.
"Th–there's someone here, Zayn! They have guns!"
        "Fuck! Where's Xavier?!"
"I don't know! He said he had errands to run then left!"
"Son of a bitch! I'm on my way, Scar! Don't do anything stupid!"
He hung up, leaving me to fend for myself.
        The door burst open.
