Lil thang for y'all inspired by a certain someone who angers me slightly *eye twitch* :3

She gritted her teeth as Harrison snorted out another slur, her anger simmering just below the surface.

Months she had been putting up with his homophobic bullshit, months listening to her friends slanted and insulted by this douche, who had the manners of a pig. He was a bigot, and sexist and a homophobe. Prick.

"Queers are disgusting. I really don't like them, I mean, they're taking over the world and spreading it like a disease..."

She sighed bitterly, trying to contain herself. She turned to face him, frowning, a slight tick in her eye.

"Harrison, can you turn down the homophobia a bit? Keep it to yourself." he muttered, eyes dark as he huffed, giving her an indignant look.

"I just hate them. I have freedom of speech, I can say what I want about faggots." he retorted, and she closed her eyes briefly at the phrase.

Faggot. Original.

Not bothering to even argue, knowing he was too pig headed to shit up, she sighed, turning back to the front and writing down the notes.

However, just as she was about to look at the board, she noticed Daniel, one of the tall, well liked boys that sat next to Harrison was silent, chewing on his lower lip, a pale and frightened look on his face.

She furrowed her brow at this, slightly confused. Daniel never looked so vulnerable like this, so scared. It was almost as if... No, it's couldn't be, could it?

The bell rang, signalling lunch, and Harrison and his cronies were the first out, leaving only the lingering few in the classroom.

She looked at Daniel with a sideways glance as they packed away, growing increasingly worried about him.

It's not like she really had much to do with him, they ran in different friendship groups, but he was always polite in the hallways, and they would always make banter if alone together to pass the time. He was a nice lad.

Soon, they were the last two in the classroom, and she knew she had to act upon her suspicions. At least if she was wrong she was still a step closer to finding out what was troubling him.

"Hey, Dan, can I talk to you for a sec?" she asked, pulling on her coat, turning to face him.

He snapped his head up in mild surprise, seemingly lost in his own head, before nodding, standing up as she walked towards him, looking up as he towered above her.

"What's up?" he asked politely, giving her a half hearted smile, but she could see the strain in it.

"I just wanted to know if you were ok. You seemed... off, in class, with Harrison and all... a-and I think I know why." she murmured, looking him dead in the eyes, seeing the conflict and growing panic in them. Her suspicions were confirmed.

He coughed, looking around to see if anyone was around, before turning back to her, a slightly desperate look in his eye.

"I-it's nothing, really. I-I've just got a lot on my mind recently, a-and-" he trailed off, running a hand through his hair. She cut him off his rambling, putting a hand on his arm, calming him somewhat. She gave him a sympathetic smile, letting out a slow breath.

"Look, Dan. It's okay, you know? To be that way. Harrison's an ignorant prick, don't listen to him. I think that right now, you're confused about your own orientation, right?" she asked, staring into his wide fearful eyes. He nodded hesitantly eventually, and she continued.

"Well remember that whatever you you are, it's ok to be that way. Your worth isn't defined by your sexuality alone, and I think you're a pretty nice guy, even if you're not necessarily straight. Don't let people like that make you feel like you're nothing. It's a struggle, in sure, but I know you, and I know you can overcome it." she said slowly, meaning every word.

Daniel just stared at her intently, searching her eyes for any sliver of dishonesty, but couldn't see a thing.

He felt somwhow, lifted. Like a great weight had been pulled off his shoulders, and he could walk with his head up again.

He smiled, genuine and a little bashful, nodding his head, letting out a sigh that sounded almost relieved.

"Thanks... j-just thanks, so much." he whispered, and she beamed, patting his back and chuckling slightly.

"It's really ok, Dan. I can't stand that prick Harrison, has a face like Swiss cheese." she said, wrinkling her nose as they walked out, smiling, talking like old friends over this new bond.

Daniel laughed, shaking his head with a smile, sighing.

"Yeah, I hate that guy too."

She beamed as she watched her best friend stand at the alter, wearing a dapper tux, a large, loving smile on his face as the pastor spoke, not taking his eyes off his almost-husband.

"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and husband. You may now kiss."

She kept in her tears as the newly weds kissed, nothing but pure love and joy radiating off them.

They walked down the aisle to cheers and waves, the occasional snap of a camera, and she stood, following them out.

"Going without saying goodbye?" she asked amused, watching Daniel turn around, grinning at her, letting go of his new husbands hand to hug her tightly.

"How could I forget? My shortie always gets to say goodbye." he chuckled, letting her go, pecking her cheek affectionately.

He walked over to his husband, taking his hand and squeezing it,ducking down for a kiss. They both smiled and turned back to her, Daniel mouthing a small 'thank you' to her.

She marked and nodded, softening into a warm smile as she watched the loving way in which Daniel picked up his shorter husband Luke, laughing together as they made their way to the limo, smiling and looking so content with life.

She sighed happily, turning around to get back in the church, stopping when she saw the best man leaning against the wall, a friendly smirk on his fave. She rolled her eyes, glaring playfully.

"Harrison, what did I say about being a creep?" she said sternly, quirking an eyebrow.

He chuckled, pushing off the wall and walking over to her, sticking his tongue out as they walked out, each to their own car.

As she watched Harrison get into the car, kissing Alexander's cheek chastely as they drove off, she couldn't help think about how those two had made it, both with their burdens lifted.

As the taxi drive towards the reception, she closed her eyes, sighing deeply.

Love wins with everything. Love is always the solution, whether it be war or peace.

Always.

This is probably crap, but eh, a lil Drabble to celebrate the U.S. legalising same sex marriage throughout the nation ^.^ Love you all! No matter what!
