Chapter 10

~ Chapter 10 ~

*Sophie’s P.O.V*

“SOPHIE! How are you? I’m about to head off to bed, but I didn’t want to go without texting you first. :) xxxxxx”

I smiled at how cute Calum was being. It was early morning at school. It was 9:05am and I was sitting in class. The teacher was busy writing on the board so she wouldn’t see me texting.

“CALUM! I’m good, just sitting in class being bored. Aw you’re adorable. Haha, if you decide to go to bed now, goodnight and don’t let the bed bugs bite. :) xxxxxx”  I replied.

I placed my phone next to my stuff on my desk and opened my book and wrote down the exercise we were meant to be doing. It was honestly hard without Calum in school. Sure I had friends that weren’t him and the other boys, but I wasn’t as close to them. Usually in math class (which I had right now) we would muck around and do what normal best friends do. But Calum of course was in London.

Knowing Calum had gone to bed I sighed and leaned back in to my chair and done the work that was required as I didn’t want homework. I didn’t care if the answers were wrong, just as long as they were done.

Before I knew it the bell had gone and it was recess. I sighed packing my things up and walking to my locker and turning the dial and putting my stuff in there, I grabbed the usual apple I would have every-day for recess and closed my locker before walking away and going to my other friends.

“Uh... Hey.” I mumbled giving a small wave.

“Oh my god Sophie!” Jane squealed making me cringe as she grabbed my arm and pulled me down on to the seat she was sitting on.

“We haven’t spoken in forever!” she squealed again.

“Ha, yeah.” I agreed.

“How have you been?” Bethany spoke up.

“Um good.”

“Dating Calum yet? OH M GEE. You two would make suck a cute couple. He so hot.” Jane spoke making me move a tiny bit further away from her.

I smiled a fake smile and shifted uncomfortably. This is why I never hang out with these people.

“We’re not dating. I trailed off.

“And why not?” Bethany asked.

“Because we’re just friends. Besides I don’t even like him like that” I denied.

“Whatever you say” Jane said.

“Liar” Bethany muttered under her breath but I still hear her. I gave her a funny look before looking away.

No longer hungry I got up and walked over to a bin and chucked my uneaten apple in to it. I slowly walked back to where the other girls were sitting and slumped down. They were talking about something that I didn’t care about.

I just really missed Calum; I pulled my phone out of my pocket to see if he’d texted back. I sighed as I placed my phone back in to my pocket as there was not messages from him. He must’ve gone to bed.

“Sophie” My thoughts were interuped by of course the one and only Jane.

“Spoken to Calum yet?”

“Where is he anyway?” Bethany asked.

“Is he sick?”

“Did he drop out of school?”

I was asked so many questions at once. There were more, but I didn’t understand them because the two girls were talking over each other.

“Um...” I mumbled unsure of what to say and shifting over again just a tiny bit over.

I honestly just had to leave before things just got even more awkward. The two girls were staring at me waiting for my reply. I just started at them blankly and just blinked at them several times. Were these girls okay?

“I have to go.” I got up quickly and walked away, it was even more awkward than the time I accidentally slipped on to my crush because there was goddamn chocolate milk that was on the floor. And no that crush was not Calum.

I turned back as I walked and saw Jane and Bethany give each other weird glances. This was honestly going to be a long day at school.

I would at least have to wait until about 6-7pm for a reply from Calum and I was willing to wait as long as possible. We would probably end up Skyping later anyway.

*Calum’s P.O.V*

Everyone laughed at something had said.

“No but Mike would kill all the Zombies just for pizza” I laughed out making all the other boys laugh. We were discussing which one of us would survive in a zombie apocalypse.

“No I wouldn’t they’d probably kill me before I even get to them” Mike replied.

“No, no, no, I would win.” Luke whined.

“Face it mate, you wouldn’t survive if your life depended on it” Ashton replied to Luke. I let out a loud laugh as my phone vibrated.

I checked to see who is was from. It was from Sophie. She had replied to my text. My heart beat sped as I read what it had said.

“CALUM! I’m good, just sitting in class being bored. Aw you’re adorable. Haha, if you decide to go to bed now, goodnight and don’t let the bed bugs bite. :) xxxxxx” 

I immediately put my phone down as I didn’t want to reply. I didn’t know why, but I just didn’t. I’ll reply to her in the morning. I thought to myself, I continued the conversation with the boys.

Soon enough the conversation had changed. Us boys did that a lot. It was really just out of habit.

“Oh my god Calum.” Luke spoke as he was going through my phone.

“Uh… Yeah?”

“You didn’t rep-“

“Shush,” I whispered harshly.

“Sorry” He mumbled in reply.

“Didn’t reply to who?” Ashton asked.

I felt my cheeks heat up slightly. “Ohhh it’s a girl. What’s her name? Do I know her?” Ashton bombarded me with questions.

“Aw how cute.” Michael commented.

“It’s no one.” I muttered before snatching my phone from Luke’s grip before heading off to bed and slamming the door shut behind me. Being in love with your best friend is seriously not easy.

I sighed and got in to bed. I wished she was here. I wish we were cuddling. But of course it’d never happen. We we’re only best friends’ right? Just best friends.

I would Skype her in the morning though. It was a daily routine that I had made myself. I would now reply to every text Sophie would send and I would start tomorrow.

I soon found myself drifting in to a deep sleep. I was tired and honestly I hoped I would dream about that one girl I loved, and that one girl was Sophie.

*Author's note* Whaddup people? I updated! I had the day of school today, my mum let me stay home considering it was the last day of term and now i've 2 weeks of holidays,. Holla more updates. Anywho, hope you're enjoying it so far. I GOT MY 5SOS SHIRT TODAY. It's massive on me and should've got a smaller size but meh. Any way bye!:) xx
